(YouTube) Video Subby and friends did another 48 hour film contest. We won a couple of awards for it. Our genre was science fiction, but also ended up making it a rock opera just for the hell of it. Any feedback would be appreciated   ( divider line

Dee Dee Rocks the Galaxy

Our entry for the San Antonio 48 Hour Film Project -

This was the criteria our film had to meet:
- Genre: Science Fiction
- Prop: A spoon
- Character: A salesperson named Daniel/Daniella Diaz,
- Phrase: "She is the only one who knows"

We decided to challenge ourselves by making it a rock opera to boot. A little Flash Gordon here, a little Rocky Horror there, with just a dash of Wizard of Oz for format.

Whenever we do these things, people want to know what we had going in. The answer is always "just us." We used to try and plan things, but they always fall apart. So we know who we have to make the movie, and we build around that. Script, plot, locations, costumes, music, that all happens in the weekend. Our leading lady (well, twelve-year-old lady) didn't even know about the project until Thursday before the drawing, and had never worked on a movie before.

Awards won: Best Costumes and Best Score.
