If it wasn't for Brexit I'd be working in London this year on a remote assignment. Instead, I'm still in the US working with a team that's planning the contingency move to either Paris, or more likely, Brussels.

I *love* London. And Liverpool, strangely enough.

I know the answer to the question is "no", but....

Is this dipshiat aware that the English have been importing people from across the world to London for simply farking ages.  The city was founded by immigrants, conquered by at least three different waves of immigrants, and has pretty much been filled to the tits with immigrants for all of its existence.  Now, many of these immigrants have been pasty farkers, so I can understand that Tucker might be confused since he thinks all albinos are exactly the same, with 100% identical values and culture - but, there have been significant numbers of normal humans in London for decades, if not centuries.  It comes from having a global empire where you are not actively enslaving everyone darker than Caspar the Friendly Ethnischergeist.  Hell, curry house in London predate Tucker's grandparents, and there have been non-uni-ethnic people living there since at least 1800.  Is Tucker saying people have been loathe to come to London since the Industrial Revolution began?  Because, I think that is not a provable hypothesis.

Yeah, London is one of the most diverse cities in the world, has been for ages, and the real estate prices are some of the highest in the world because apparently no one wants to live there...

Sweden is a perennial winner in the 'top ten happiest nations' 'top ten nations with the highest quality of life' club.

Paris is one of the busiest and most popular tourist destinations in the world.

I'm surprised Tucker was able to pass that bullshiat off with a straight face.

It may be accurate by the numbers, but it is a distortion.

The better graph were it to be the same would use "domestic terrorism" instead if the undefined term "right wing."

It's not accurate in that it is designed to prove a point, if which I am unsure.

I remember back in the early 1900s an illegal immigrant woman came to London- she was some kind of witch- she posed as a nanny and sang songs to children- brainwashing them along with her Cockney chimney sweep accomplice. A Jolly Holiday indeed.

Then, after her Liberal brainwashing was finished, she left again as soon as the winds changed. London hasn't been the same since.

well, the Oklahoma city bombing comes to mind, as does a rather large string of abortion clinic bombings and murder of abortion providers.  none of those people were immigrants, least far as I know anyways.

I only got half way through the video. I stopped it after Tucker complained that 1in 29 million "failures" in the existing vetting system wasn't good enough, and demanded "perfection" as the government's responsibility.

How about you apply that same standard to gun control, you hypocritical racist twat?

2018-04-25 05:57:13 AM
I don't see any problems with the foreigners in London; I myself am a foreigner in London. The "values" problems come from British citizens who have been priced out of most of London society and are overly influenced by American gang culture. The teenagers stabbing each other in the streets and committing drive-by acid attacks on moped are London-born and bred. It's the same problem you have anywhere in the world where you have a huge amount of wealth disparity.

It's part of their propaganda campaign against a strong social safety net, especially single payer health care (even Hillary wanted to keep the current public private partnership system).  The NHS operates at less than half the cost of our semi-private one, and delivers much better care.

I remember a bunch of Trumpers had a big fuss over some BBC animation that showed a black Roman soldier in Roman London. They felt this was proof that (((they))) were trying to alter white history. None of these dipshiats seemed to realize that Rome drew in soldiers all over North Africa and the Middle East and sent them north alongside white soldiers cause the Romans didn't segregate their armies by skin color. There's a pretty good chance there were black people in London at that time. Not many, but some.

That's a bit of a simplistic take, to be honest. Russian oligarchs, Greek shipping magnates, and Middle Eastern oil sheikhs need a place to launder their money and London property is a great way to do it. There are a huge amount of homes in London (centred around Kensington, Chelsea, and Westminster, but elsewhere as well) that were bought for millions of pounds but sit empty year-round. These people don't want to live here, they just want to get their dirty money out of their sketchy homelands. When they drive up prices in the desirable areas, the people who would otherwise live there move down a rung, and the people living there move down further, and eventually prices have gone up everywhere inside the M25.

It's not even 'a pretty good chance,' it's been confirmed. And not just soldiers, but high-ranking and respected citizenry. The Romans were some discriminatin' bastards, but their discrimination was based around whether you were considered a Roman, not on your ethnicity.

And some of the pressure contributing to high prices is that the London property market's really good for laundering hundreds of millions in ill-gotten gains from around the world.

Chinese oligarchs bought up a lot of property in Seattle, Portland, and other places to basically do the same.

The sad truth is America's property and real estate laws - and I'm guessing the UK's are much the same - are written specifically to benefit the owners vs. the renters/dwellers.

Catlenfell: No one can afford to live in London, since the Russians began hiding assets by buying all the real estate.

There is pressure from both sides; we don't really talk about council housing, but that's creating a false economy of its own. Instead of houses being priced relative to the market, you have the high end which keep going higher and higher because the funds from the buyers are nearly limitless; and on the low end you have houses which are essentially removed from the market entirely and given away at far below market price. So, in an area with let's say 500 houses, 200 of them are taken off the market for council housing, leaving just 300 in housing stock available. 100 are bought up by the shipping magnates and oil barons and now you have only 200 houses available to be fought over by everyone from day labourers to City financiers. Is it any wonder that the typical living situation for a Londoner in their 30s is to share a flat with 3-4 other people?
