As a New Orelanian but primarily.a Saints junkie, I'm loving thing this.  I respect basketball but I'm still getting used to fandom. Have a lot to learn before I start running my mouth like I do about football.

And boy do I run my mouth. Aside from motorcycles, the NFL is my second passion.

And all 22 will pick Golden State. Can't wait for the follow-up tweet / thread in two weeks.

Dear Pels,

Let Cousins walk.

Signed,

They probably all picked UVA over UMBC, too

Slow To Return: And all 22 will pick Golden State.

Spurs ain't eliminated yet! The series isn't over. Remember the Alamo!

(Look, it's gonna be a "Gentleman's Sweep", where the losing team picks up one at home and the better team closes out on their home court... but until the clock says 0:00 for the fourth win...)

Maybe ESPN underestimated the suckage potential of Portland.  They haven't won anything, ever.

Lillard is a choke artist.

The "Gentleman's Sweep" is still probably my favorite sports related term of all time.

Those that know me know that I have absolutely no love at all for the NBA, but something in that headline looks familiar.  Oh yeah.  Now I remember...

Was anybody else mad that we didn't get a Blazers game on 4/20?

Similar headlines happened way before, too. A "proving the haters wrong" with numbers bit isn't original.

In other news, people predicting future events are often wrong.

My brother in law used a screenshot of ESPN's Expert Picks for the 2010 NLCS( every one of them picked the Phillies over the Giants) for his wall paper for years.

Portland won the title in 1977.

ESPN gives zero farks for that....I'm inclined to think they're in fact thrilled all 22 got it wrong.  For the same reason they had Bayless and continue to employ Screamin' A.

But really....22 analysts?!

2018-04-23 12:46:42 AM
is it really groupthink when they're all picking the higher seed?

Let Cousins walk.

Why not? The refs always do.

The coaching has been awful all season long. Seriously they are an decent team but a seriously bad coach.

I wouldn't call Lillard a choke artist. This sweep was a team effort. Lillard isn't the back the team should ride on. He can hit the clutch shots, so, he gets like 90% of the opportunities.

Blazers had no passion the last month. They even said that they were losing because they were playing teams that have more on the line and are playing inspired. The problem with Portland, and pro sports, is that you get paid even if you lose.

Oh well, guess the Blazers will sit back with some killer recreational and binge Fortnight for the rest of the post-season.

Also, the fan base has been drastically cut-off when the games stopped being aired locally.

Correct, Lillard did not choke.  Lillard was done.  Lillard was over it by first quarter of game 2, if not before.
