Since I have been dieting it's cherry/grape tomatoes and hummus. Avocado if I can afford the calories.

Wasabi soy sauce Triscuits at the moment.  Salty enough to satisfy the craving, gross enough that I only eat a few.

Peanut butter is less bad than my many other options. A little on some bread, or a big spoonful (no double-dipping). Usually halts a chocolate craving temporarily, and the bread adds a little bulk to quiet the tummy. Yogurt's good.  Grapes are really good for quieting a rumbly tummy and a mere handful is enough to generate a sense of satiety.  I substitute frozen fruit chunks for ice cream and sorbet - let them half-way thaw, I get the cold and the sweet and some fiber.

Or if you're lazy, like me, eat the spoonful and chase it with a cookie.

I'm currently doing the thing where you take in all your calories in a 6-8-hour window during the day. Day what you will about weird diets, this one had me waking up feeling well, rather than feeling like I have a food hangover. I also naturally don't get hungry until around 10:30am, so it's not too hard to stretch the fast to 11:30. I try to eat two big meals before 7pm, and make one of them a salad, or fresh veggies with hummus.

I got a sous vide cooker a couple of weeks ago, so I've been eating a lot of chicken for protein. And steak...so much better now that I can cook it properly.

Before this, I would often wind up baking some elaborate shortbread at 1am, because I tried to not keep any ready-to-eat food in the house, or it would disappear overnight.

Barley.

Strictly speaking, the liquid after the barley has been malted, soaked with water at 66 degrees Celsius, the liquor collected, boiled with hops, crash-chilled, strained and stored with yeast in suspension for a few weeks.

That just wont work for me. I have to make sure I am totally full right before I go to bed. If not, I wake up in the middle of the night because I'm feeling hungry and wont be able to get back to sleep until I eat something.

Also, I have to eat something (technically what I make is a breakfast drink, but whatever) as soon as I get up. Whenever my doctor asks for a fasting blood sample I tell him it's simply not going to happen unless the nurse wants to arrive at my house as soon as I wake up.

If it's "munchies" and it's late night snacks or whatever, it's not a healthy snack. WT fark subby. If I want a healthy snack, I'll eat some carrots. But that's not what I wanted.

Hemp seeds.

Buy them in bulk and add to cereal. Sometimes I just eat a few spoonfuls on their own for a snack.
