Epipens have nothing to do with this subby. Haven't you heard that severe allergic reactions are now treated with thoughts and prayers? Mylan know this. That's why it's restructuring.

Also, I wouldn't worry too much about the workers who are laid off. The tax break they received and the bonuses from Mylan should carry them. Besides, they are represented by the steelworkers union, who we know will be negotiating for higher wages and benefits because of MAGA.
I don't know why this stuff is being reported. The US economy has turned around in the past 15 months!

They're just laying off blue collar schmucks. Executive bonuses are still going ahead and increasing as planned.

Or it could be just that competitors entered the market with vastly cheaper alternatives.  Including from CVS.

/hey look! the free market worked in this case!

fark Mylan.  The CEO is an egomaniac shiatbag who moved the corporate headquarters to Ireland so the shareholders have less say after they were farked over when Mylan turned down a buyout offer from Teva.

Theyre as profitable as we think. Just not as profitable as they were forcasted in the annual report.

That's 30-40 million a year in profits not wasted on employees.

On the flip side, that's 400 drug making professionals cut loose to ply their trade as free agents. In West Virginia. Or wherever they land after blowing themselves up.

Just got a notice from our pharmacy at work that there is a shortage of epipens nationally. Weird.

As the vast majority of my time in pharmacies is at CVS, I can't really gauge that one. I forget who makes the CVS brand at the moment though; I'll look in the AM.

...and yet there is mysteriously a shortage in Canada where they have no competition from alternatives.

Mrs Johnson was complaining about how ESTRACE cream costs about $300 AFTER co-pay so I looked to see what the alternatives were since the patent has expired.

I was so excited to find the FDA approved a Generic version as of December 2017.
Then I saw who got the approval: MYLAN

I expect ESTRACE will soon cost $400 while the MYLAN version will cost $349
