I don't know why, but I'm predicting OKC wins the championship.  Russ is just too good and too motivated.

I'm going to Chuck E Cheese. Recording the Celtics game. I'd like to delay it long enough to be able to drink during, but that will cause it's own problems.

Chuck E Cheese doesn't serve beer anymore?

I thought the big joke was all the drink parents fighting at Chuck E Cheese's.

They bring their own? Get hammered before going? The one nearest me closed last year, but they served beer and wine for the parents... maybe a timing issue? A not before noon on Sundays kinda thing?

We went to a different one last month in a Saturday and they didn't have any either.

This headline lacks pizazz

Anyhow does anybody else think that the talking heads are going a bit overboard annointing the Philadelphia Seventy-Processors as the next Emperors of Basketball? I mean they did beat the heat pretty savagely in the first game, but it IS only one game. And it is the hapless Heat. Of the hapless East. It isnt as if they just swept a legit team in the playoffs.Or even made it to the second round. So far they have done the equivalent of kicking the Clippers ass once.

Are you forgetting that Paul George's offense has a tendency to disappear in clutch time and that Melo is, at this point in his career,  as much a liability on D as an asset on O?

But they also we're getting their asses kicked halfway through that Miami game.  Philly is def young and inconsistent but full of talent.

As a 6ers fan, I am just happy they are progressing.  17 in a row now and Embiid coming back is encouraging.

We're all praying you make it back from there alive.

That Portland vs NO game last night was a great ending to a first day of playoff basketball. Hoping today can provide more like that. This Bos vs Mil game is off to a good start. Would love to see Giannis pull out some huge games in this series.

Will be interesting to see if the Cavs flip the switch again now that the playoffs have started, I could really see the Pacers shocking them and making it close though.

Oh yeah, and the Sixers are a ton of fun to watch. Simmons is legit one of the best playmakers in the league already.

Am I perverse for wanting to see a 76'ers/Timberwolves final?

2018-04-15 01:59:05 PM
So of course we drive by the TD Garden and they had the score displayed in huge numbers on their wall. Oh well, home now and about to start the game.

Used to care about the NBA. Now? Meh...
Will say Westbrook is a beast. Dude be like the Energizer Bunny.

2018-04-15 02:28:54 PM
Heh...the score that was displayed on the TD Garden was like 34-17 Celtics. I was watching and the score was 17-14 Bucks. It took awhile for the Celtics to get to 34. End of first quarter they were still at 29-17.

2018-04-15 02:31:27 PM
Oh, I guess it was 28-17, my GF just informed me. Celtics had just hit a three and got a foul and hadn't shot the free throw yet.

2018-04-15 02:33:48 PM
I really wish this was the night game so my GF wouldn't look at me sideways for opening a beer.

On the other hand, if I open a beer now, it'll be gone by tonight and I'll be contemplating running to the store.

Wouldn't mind catching a buzz, though.

Not counting chickens but, a helluva 1st Q by the Pacers.

Pacers look legit so far.  James has not asserted himself yet, though

Yeah.  When given the chance to be the man, he went for it.  That and another year of development.  The Pacers thought they were getting a few journeymen for George and ended up getting a future star and some second tier guys .

It's harder in general to make long running commentaries of NBA games, and considering that the sport's worst time in the modern era coincided with Fark's heyday it's not all that surprising that a culture never really built up here. Drew isn't exactly out there pounding the pavement to attract new people.

Every NBA team would be so lucky to have a fan base as rabid as Toronto's. Even moreso than OKC and SA, where in the states they are the only game in town. Hosers love hoops.

While I have my doubts on them having a "go-to" guy in the clutch, I picked the Raps to make the Finals. DeRozan is a great talent, but I don't see him having an expansive enough offensive game to bring it home.

There is a red carpet that extends from Cleveland to LA.

The Lakers part of LA, not the Clippers.

The Pacers could be in the ECF.   They've played as well as anyone in the conference in the last 2 months.
