Good stuff, thanks for posting that. And I note how empty the stands are at Wrigley.

Weather sucked today. I golf clap the fans that were there.

I also made a drunken bet that the White Sox would have a better record than the Cubs by all-star break. Ten bucks I'll never see again.

Considering the weather and the score when the rally began they were lucky to have that many left.

OMG, you have one job pitchers. Get ONE out without giving up 5 runs.

29K and change was what they announced at the start but yeah, most bailed by the end of the 5th when it was 10-2. I don't blame them

Cubs pitchers have been having issues with that themselves...

Makes sense you would say that, winning a game through the ineptitude of another teams manager is nothing to be happy about.

It was raining, they were down 8, and yet they still had more fans in the seats than the White Sox did...

Yes, yes it is something to be happy about. You hug it, you kiss it, and you call it George.

In a season as long and sometimes random as baseball's, you take every win that presents itself.

Nope.

1984: Sandberg/Sutter game
1984: NLCS game one
1998: Game 163 vs Giants
2003: NLDS game 5
2015: Wild card game vs Pirates
2015: NLDS game 4

That's 6 off the top of my head, all predating the WS run in 2016.

2003 Cubs-Pirates for the division.
We got lucky. The game the day before was postponed and we had tickets for the next day and they played a double header. The poeple that had tickets for the postponed game got screwed. But we got to watch them clinch with Kerry Wood pitching so I didn't care. That was the best game I've ever been to.

Unfortunately I've been priced out of going to as many games as I'd like.
in 2015 I "splurged" and got some tickets, front row down the first base line right in front of the old bullpen. They were, IIRC, about $120 each. Looked at those same seats in 2016 and they were $400 and change each.

I was there as well. Absolutely great day. Aramis went yard, if I recall. Even the people in the outfield bleachers stopped socializing to watch the entire second game. Def best game I've ever been to.

You can get those seats when they play in Milwaukee, go to a nice dinner, and stay at a hotel for cheaper than just the same seats at Wrigley.

May 17, 1979 Cubs vrs Phillies. Cubs spot Philadelphia 7 runs in the top of the first, only score 6 in the bottom of the first. Down at one point  17-6 and 21-9 the Cubs end up losing in 10 24-23.
