You gotta give them an A for effort. In a year or so they'll perfect the art of getting beer and logging into Fark.com

When I was in high school, my best friend had an older brother who was of age and would buy us beer. Before he would do it though, he made us swear to never rat him out if we ever got busted. He went as far as making us memorize a cover story, whereby we obtained the beer with the help of a kindly over-the-road trucker named Hank, that we had met at the truck stop outside of town two weeks prior and hadn't seen since. He traded us the beer in exchange for us power washing his trailer. His plates were from Mississippi, but we didn't remember the number. He told us he had a favorable route hauling beer from Canada to California and fruit from California to Canada, so he never had to "deadhead." We thought that meant something about The Grateful Dead, but he laughed and told us, no, that was when you didn't have a return load after reaching your outbound destination, which was an inefficient way to run a trucking business. Last time we saw him, he was heading west at a legal rate of speed.

Only had to use the story twice.

In Germany this probably wouldn't even be an issue.  The fact that we are so strict with alcohol laws means lots of kids are wowed by the idea, and then are rediculous in high school/college.

I just worked for a couple of weeks for the city, doing voter registration and processing in-person absentee ballots. I had to witness (sign) every ballot, saying that the ballot had been created in front of me by the person who'd voted.

I explained this to the voters by saying, "The last step is me witnessing this, to say that you are the person who cast this vote, and not a couple of children in a clever costume."

Then a representative from the clerk's office heard me and made me be more professional.

I have cateye glasses, and since I got them, I have never been complimented so many times on my frames. My type of eye dysfunction doesn't easily allow for contacts or Lasik, so I spent the extra bucks for a couple amazing vintage pairs. Have never regretted it. :)
