CSB:
In the weird collegiate a'cappella days of my youth, I used to sing the Toys 'R Us theme song backwards while spinning a penny on top of a wire hanger while the group got ready for another song.

/I was even sober at that point in the evening

I got my Switch at a ToysRUs last fall. Good thing I didn't get the three year replacement plan.

I might go to see if they have any Switches at liquidation prices.

Unless Nintendo is making more of them, I doubt it. I stood in line for about 15 minutes and got 1 of the 20 they had. They completely sold out in less than 30 minutes of opening.

/ I question Nintendo's selling policy. They stopped making a consol that was selling out immediately after selling it for a few months and don't make nearly enough Switches

They don't seem to like taking my money so I'm curious what the Long game is

Well, now we know what happens when a Mormon sodomizes a giraffe.

We went to Toy's R Us to get some Barbie things for a family we "adopted" for Christmas.  We were there on the second to last Saturday before Christmas.  You'd think a toy store would be busy on that day; but no, we were the only ones in the store.

I got my last switches at DigiKey.  Mouser also has a good selection.

KKR and Bain Capital bank-raped Toys-R-Us.  They made sure to get their cash out of the deal up front.  They got a lovely $54 million free and clear and saddled TRU with $5.3 in debt from which they never recovered.

Vulture capitalism at its finest.

Only thing more ironic would be a Sears advertisement on page

You don't want to get saddled with a lot of production space that will eventually sit unused as demand wanes. So you forgo potential sales now to lower losses from unused production capabilities later.

The NES classic was just a complete misjudgement of demand. It's possible it was made in a rented production facility whose lease lapsed and already had another client lined up. This stuff happens.

When I was a kid my father never took us to Toys R Us, too fancy.  Most of my toys came from el-Cheapo regional department stores....I guess the closest thing today would be something like Big Lots.   Once in a while he'd break down and take us to Child World, long since Tango Uniform.   My father's just couldn't seem the logic in buying 'brand name' anything for kids.

It's okay.  My wife took the kids anyway.
