(Five Thirty-Eight)   Penn might be the team most likely to pull off what has never happened in the history of the NCAA tournament: a #16 seed beating a #1 seed   ( fivethirtyeight.com) divider line

Unlikely.

Worth noting that Penn has great 3 point defense and Kansas lives on the 3. Worth a flier bet maybe, but still underdogs of course.

Drink a highball
   at nightfall,
   be good fellows
   while you may.
For tomorrow
   may bring sorrow,
   so tonight
   let's all be gay.
Tell the story
   of glory of
   Penn-syl-van-i-a;
Drink a highball
   and be jolly;
   here's a toast
   to dear old Penn.

Not likely to happen.

Virginia has a significant injury.  Probably not enough for a 16 to win, but that might be a requirement for it to ever happen.

Well mentioning it as a possible upset just guarantees they will get bounced by 20.

I was actually a bit surprised they were relegated to a 16 seed. There are a handful of higher seeds they could beat. But Kansas isn't one of them. Penn will end up playing two #1 tourney seeds this season. Perhaps not a big deal for a major conference team but for an Ivy team that's pretty incredible.

Is there a Fark NCAA pool this year?  I went to group "FARK Bracket Gredunza" at the FOX SI website but it just shows me last year's results.

There's normally one on the ESPN site.

Well, mostly chalk this year but I'm in. Heels to cut the nets, OSU and MSU Elite Eight. It'll probably explode like they all do. I did get lucky in the med school pool in 2009- $10 entry, creator of the pool got 10% for running it. Reached the point at the end it didn't matter who won any of the Final Four games- I was too far ahead. UNC winning it all picked me up over a grand.

Tournament has not even started and this basically describes 99.9999 of the brackets out there right now.

I picked the favorite to win in every single game, so I should win my work pool again this year.
