That's going to cost them more than $8K per year.

edmo: That's going to cost them more than $8K per year.

Well it's going to cost that guy his salary, which I assume is more than $8K per year.

By the time they graduate they could probably drink paint, no problem.

Standard rule for Tennessee schools, "Keep them dumb!"

2018-03-13 03:53:31 PM
Damn, and they were just gonna start their asbestos abatement project, and remove all of the flaking lead laced paint from the 1960s, too.

Ah, The Detroit Method.

Yea, poisoning little kids isn't a great look.

Americans really don't seem all that interested in preventing any kind of lead in elementary schools.

Dayum. Who is gonna be prosecuted for making that recording?

2018-03-13 03:56:48 PM
Can someone do the math of what it will cost the school to fight any future law suits by not providing safe water?

Please, tell me again that kids attending poorer school districts don't have the deck stacked against them in a systematic fashion, from cradle to grave.

As usual, the populace cares, hot lead or not, but the elected and appointed leaders don't because of who gives them kickbacks

I blame Betsy DeVos.

Obviously charter schools and the free market will solve this problem.
It's like making pizza.
If a bunch of pizzas turn out bad, then people won't buy there again.
Problem solved.

Apparently the maintenance staff got a public school education.

bighairyguy: Ah, The Detroit Method.

Nah, Detroit has good water.  Piped from upstream in the Great Lakes, supplies a lot of suburbs.  Not that it's easy for them to get the actual Detroit customers to pay their bills.

That's just being smart.  Why, just the other day my CO2 alarm was going off like crazy.  It was really annoying, so I just took the battery out and threw it away.  Saved me all sorts of mona;lsdsssssssssssss

He obviously knows that lead is the one thing that neutralizes the mind control and cancer causing properties of both  fluoride and chem-trails.

Why do you think the government is so adamant about removing lead from public water systems?

I'm fine with blaming her for everything.

You can see why a big swath of the populace isn't too concerned about school shootings.

Saves them the time and effort of poisoning the little buggers personally.

That manages to be a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll at the same time.  Something you don't see much of nowadays.

Excuse me, but what is the big deal? There is lead in the pipes, which is bad, but the lead is cleared out when the faucets or taps are turned on. Eventually water will wash lead  out of the pipes, so it seems like a smart move to not have to install filters or replace plumbing. Spend the money on teachers salaries or something good for the kids to rally around.

Real Americans know that lead poisoning is just a liberal myth!  Who says it's bad? Scientist and doctors who just want to get rich by publishing anti-lead lies.  They just want to hurt private industry.

Or they could have shut the lead infused drinking fountains off and let the snowflakes bring their own lead infused water from home.

A bit extreme but far more sensible than what this poor excuse for a human came up with. I'm sure alot more parents would accept, "Due to the lead pipes in the school all water fountains will be disabled. Children are encouraged to bring bottled water or other healthful drink from home."
rather than
"Just bypass the filters and turn off the warning light. Who gives a fark if the little shiats get lead poisoning?"

Gee, that was helpful. There's a finite amount of lead in the pipes, and that is going to get washed out with each draw of water.  Problem is gonna solve itself. Right now, all schools should worry about lead coming in the form of gunfire -- and maybe use the money earmarked for h2O filters to train and arm teachers?

Can you provide some sort of evidence that the lead will just wash away.  Because I think you're full of baloney.

It's not their charter schools which have this problem and because charter schools don't get full funding for the students they take, the per pupil funding for the district left behind increases.
