According to the Journal, he was not allowed to gather his belongings before being escorted out of the White House.

That's like being 2 seconds from being put in cuffs

Except in this administration, they probably discovered he was a whistleblower who was going to get everybody else cuffed.

In his role in the White House, McEntee did tasks such as giving the president messages and making sure the clocks were correctly set for daylight-saving time.

You know, when someone puts twice-a-year tasks on their list of experience, I start to wonder if they're trying to pad their resume.  Just saying.

I wonder what this guy's actual job was.  Chief coke  diet pill procurer?

So his job was to take messages and walk them down to Trump

Instead he's going to work with Trump's campaign.  Only the best people.

Given the proximity to the switchover, I'm wondering whether that was an unofficial leak of what he screwed up. "I can't confirm why he was fired, but I can confirm that he was responsible for a number of tasks including adjusting White House clocks for DST."

I assumed it was the only thing they could think of, but I like your theory better.

Forging the President's signature upon a document - even a letter - delivered to a fellow federal employee seems like the kind of thing that would violate a f*ckton of criminal laws.

I'd imagine forging the President's signature at all would make the Secret Service extremely twitchy.  Seriously - who the fark admits to that?

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told the Journal that "we don't comment on personnel issues."

Assuming that's not a typo for "personal issues", I mean, what the fark? Trump's a public servant. His personnel issues are America's personnel issues.

He was escorted from the White House because of an "unspecified security issue,"

Given this administrations track record I have to assume that issue was 'caring about security'.

In his role in the White House, McEntee did tasks such as giving the president messages and making sure the clocks were correctly set for daylight-saving time.

Or maybe they just let him go because he wouldn't have anything to do for the next six months.  What kind of farking government do we have where that is even in someone's job description?

So I work at a school for autism and a few months ago, one of our students turned 18 without their parents filing appropriate guardianship paperwork. As a result, we had to have the student sign a bunch of permission forms so that we could continue to provide services. I can't post the signature due to confidentiality laws, but suffice it to say it was more-or-less the same scrawled gibberish as Trump's signature.

Can the president get rid of DST via executive action? I think it be awesome if he did that rather than go through the hassle of hiring someone to replace this guy.

The Trump campaign announced on Tuesday that McEntee is rejoining the campaign as a senior adviser.

So he probably did something at Trump's behest that will end up being very bad for Trump, and Kelly said he had to go. Trumpy wants pocket yes men though.

Somebody with a barbed sense of humor is at work somewhere in the information chain. Everyone else past that person is either asleep at the switch, or smirking as they pass it along.
