Football...lulz

You mean American Soccer?

Given how poor the Stoke defense is and how gangbusters the City lineup is, I expect no less than 5 goals to be put in for the Citizens today.  It would not hurt my feelings if they managed the clean sheet as well.

The word soccer was originally used by the English.
It was adopted by Americans to differentiate it from American football.
So no. We mean English soccer

As usually happens when I refer to these matches as Monday Night Football, which I suppose is the point

I still think Spurs were playing it safe with Kane by taking him off and putting a boot on that foot.

Even in some parts of England (and in most of Wales) they call it soccer.  "Football" means rugby in those parts.

Gonna go with a 4-0 win for Man City over Stoke City here.  It's just a cold night in Stoke, not the rainy night in Stoke that causes so many problems for visiting sides.

I went 3-0 for Citeh. It'll probably end up 6-0

3-0 Citeh because Sergio is out

eagles95: 3-0 Citeh because Sergio is out

Pretty sure that is what I picked

I may have given Stoke a goal, but I had City scoring 3

Has Pep disguised his ribbon as a daffodil?

Why am I trying to figure out the width of each strip of the pitch?  And why is it somewhere about 2.5 yards rather than 3?  What are the dimensions of the bet365 pitch?

2018-03-12 04:07:12 PM
AH!  The stupid time change means that for the next 2 weeks all games start one hour later.

2018-03-12 04:07:18 PM
City getting really cheeky on that free kick

2018-03-12 04:08:46 PM
If stoke are going to play counter ball, they need at least 2 up top.

Yeah, "kicking the ball forward and running after it while three Man City defenders casually walk back to cover" isn't going to pay dividends.

2018-03-12 04:10:25 PM
I'm shocked, shocked... not that shocked

2018-03-12 04:10:35 PM
Slick goal indeed Martin Tyler

Sterling gets the assist?

Because then that happens.

Now it's just a matter of how many Citeh are going to score.

105 by 68 metres (115 by 74 yd)

According to wikipedia

2018-03-12 04:12:44 PM
That didn't take long.
Typical fine passing and off ball movement lead to David Silva slotting one home.
0-1

Almost exactly 2.5 meters then.  Probably just the width of their mower....

Aye. Looks like they work their way out from the centre to make it symmetrical.

Great move by Shaquiri near the end line

2018-03-12 04:22:29 PM
Fair cop to Stoke, that was some good play there.  Honestly deserved a goal at the end of that.

2018-03-12 04:24:46 PM
John Moss a bit late in blowing for offside

That cross into the box was so inviting.  Too bad nobody RSVP'd

Really surprised he was not booked

After barging into Shiqiri he put up the footballer's "what did I do?" hand gesture.  Only time I've seen that off the pitch recently is when Putin was asked about the spy getting nervegassed in the UK.

2018-03-12 04:31:47 PM
Shaqiri is trying to show me I had no cause to bench him this week.

2018-03-12 04:33:32 PM
And Butland goes down with an ankle injury maybe.  Bookmakers marking England's chances in the World Cup down even further as we speak.

I guess they actually want him to score directly

How did everyone this cross from De Bruyne.
Even he is wondering.

Here comes a 48 pass goal

Chip over is just too far ahead of Sterling

I meant not an own goal!

Ohhhhhh that was close!  Ederson just spares Citeh's blushes there....
