If I was a bipolar quarterback I'd call a really depressing play and then kind of mope around sullenly to the right but then BAM! option out to a 99-yard manic episode!

TOUCHDOWN YEAAAAHHHHHH!

Mate, we all do that

"I had a back problem, and used opiods and alcohol to self-medicate. I'm better now, I need another chance in the NFL."

If a person is a victim of their own body and don't know how to treat it, is that something they should suffer for for the rest of their lives?

Sounds like a person I'd be willing to take a chance on with a few million dollars of my money.

well he never kneeled for the anthem so sure what the hell

I have a son who pulls that shiat on us. My wife falls for it every time, I think he's full of shiat.

he will be a perfect addition back on the browns

2018-03-12 04:15:16 PM
Yeah, I want 1 year of monitoring to see that he actually takes his meds, every damned day, before I'm throwing NFL money at him.

Monitoring, not supervision.  I want to know that he is doing it on his own, not being handed the pills and stared at by a 250 lb 'nurse' in a rehab center.

Freakin Rican: he will be a perfect addition back on the browns

I think the browns should field a team of all the recent failed qbs, with Vince Young and RGIII and the rest playing all of the positions.

I'd self-medicate if Hamilton, Ontario was looking like my most realistic option, too.

He better be planning on playing for the league minimum, considering that the only team that would spend a ludicrous amount on a bad quarterback has already been through that process with him.

So the XFL has their first player.

I am a stable genius and like, really smart.  I just started working out so I should be in shape soon.  Give me an NFL contract so I can play QB and you will have no ragrets.

2018-03-12 04:22:17 PM
Yea, I can't wait to see which team will give a 25 year old drug addicted, poor impulse control ex-QB like Manziel, before they give a chance to Kaepernick.

Go to Canada, play well there, get asked to come back to the NFL.

If his problems included opiods, the NFL (pain meds are a job requirement) might not be for him.  In the unlikely event that he is really clean, just getting on with his life is almost certainly for the best.
/maybe he can team up with the Browns to end the win drought (since he last won)
//nevermind, I'm sure the Browns can find someone worse to lose some more
///will there be a "bro squad" working the stats to prove NFL collusion against Johnny Football
////will fark ever stop instagreening Manziel links?

I get what you're saying, but it's pretty hard to describe his lack of an NFL contract as "suffering."

Most people don't have what it takes to get an NFL contract, whether due to a lack of talent, genetics, or a physical and/or mental ailment. Most of us find a way to cope. Mr. Manziel can join us.

2018-03-12 04:53:54 PM
What about his highly successful college career?  He seemed fine then.  This is a case of "I didn't know how to handle the unlimited amount of money I received from my NFL paycheck, and I went insane.  I'll be better this time, I promise.  Where's the coke... I mean weight room...... I mean coke?"

Not sure what the NFL protocol would be on someone who admittedly abused drugs/alcohol but wasn't caught by the NFL's drug-testing policy.

Probably be a Michael Vick situation:  Needs to show a) he's clean and b) he can play at a solid level before any NFL team throws serious money at him.

Difference is Michael Vick had nearly superhuman athletic ability. Manziel's claim to fame was a 6'5" go-to receiver that could pull down his wild throws.

He was offered a deal but declined it because he wanted to be paid the same as the highest paid qb in the league even though he was a rookie with no cfl experience and a lot of baggage. No thanks, the CFL can let the browns take another crack at him.

You cannot possibly be referring to him not being a starting QB as "suffering for the rest of his life" can you?  Because I'm a victim of my short, fat, slow body and don't know how to treat it too.  Will you start the petition for me to be Aaron Rodgers backup QB?

See, I don't even want to start!

Yeah, probably true, and conservative Elway isn't going to sign Kaepernick. Seriously, the latter's black-balling from the league is truly one of the most remarkable, underreported stories in modern sports. Seems like something from the 60s-70s.

If all of this is true I feel for the guy as I also self-medicate and often make poor decisions.

However, I'm not a douchebag. He still has to answer for that.

As an alcoholic, I can sympathize with him. I lost everything and the only woman to really love me because I thought the only way to quell my anxiety and depression was by drinking half a handle of vodka everyday after work.

He's an entitled douchebag. But I can see myself in his place.

/also a douchebag

Bipolar illness alone does not explain this guys personality.

Alcoholics tend to be self-absorbed assholes who act like a wrecking ball in the lives of everyone around them.. because they can't admit that their substance abuse problem is ruining everything they touch.

So simply admitting your bipolar may explain part of the problem but it doesn't solve the problem.  He needs to admit that he has been a completely self-absorbed douchebag and look at the people around him in a different light, and there is no way to know if he had done that part based on his "I am wired differently" attitude.
He can be wired differently and still be abusing drugs/alcohol because he thinks he is entitled.

Technically the nurses are usually nurse sized. It's the MHTs that look like linemen.
