LegacyDL: Millennials are twice as likely as Gen Xers and baby boomers combined to enjoy a glass of moonshine or other liquor.

I hope the article is referring to store bought moonshine and not real moonshine.

*puts on, adjusts pedant hat*

You can't buy moonshine at the store, because moonshine is untaxed liquor.

brantgoose: FARK.COM might profit from that information, using Drunken Online Shopping to sell TotalFark, etc.

Advertize directly to the booze hounds.

It's a thought. I am very abstemious myself but never without an opinion on booze.

I only sponsor while drunk.

"Americans have spent an estimated $30.43 billion on these spontaneous drunk purchases, or about $447.57 per person. ..."

Ha! I only managed to spend $160 on drunk purchases last year.

Of course, that was all on a single beer, which I haven't even opened yet.

That is a crap study. It assumes all purchases made by someone who admits shopping while drunk are made while drunk. Utterly stupid assumption.

That said, I bought a CD 3 weeks ago which I already owned. Alcohol was involved. I should have just paid myself but no, that did not occur to me.

The only thing I buy while drunk are Steam games. Sometimes I'll be looking through my catalog and go "What the hell is that??"

What the hell is a $160 beer?  Is like like a $20 bomber that comes with a really nice $140 handjob, or do you consider a whole keg "a single beer"?

It was a BA stout made by Bottle Logic. I have no idea what the base price was, but I was drunk, alright? I'm trying to justify the purchase by saving it for a special occasion.

I'm so glad I don't drink anymore. I've got enough things in life bending me over a barrel, derp drunkenness I can't afford anymore.

It beats going to Walmart at 3AM after the bars close and wandering around drunk for 2 hours if only because I can shop online in my underwear and no one complains... Walmart on the other hand...they have standards.  They may be low, but they are standards.
