You'd think that the party of personal responsibility would realize it's the message, and not the messenger...

HAHAHAHAHA... sorry, I just couldn't finish that thought. Party of personal responsibility is the running joke that the GOP has been touting for years now.

After 2016, I can't believe polls anymore. I still say no way Lamb wins this.

OTOH, I'll just be happy when the constant "Pelosi ooga-booga" attack ads go away.

Last one I saw had Lamb up but not more than the margin of error. But this one shoulda been a gimmi for the GOP, they've dropped a ton of coin just to get it to a draw from a +20 just over a year ago. I love the GOP turning on it's own here, they're really nervous moving toward the mid terms.

The mid terms are going to be a bloodbath *if everyone turns out*.

No, as far as they are concerned, the Republican ideology cannot fail, it can only be failed.

If they have failed to gain power, it's only because they weren't right wing enough and ideologically pure enough.

But if Saccone didn't start upping his fundraising game and getting his sluggish campaign in order, he could lose a race that should be a gimme for the party.

That's it really. It all comes down to money.
The only thing that the Greedy Old Pig party cares about. Their money. So they can buy even more ad time to annoy their potential supporter with intelligence-insulting campaign spots.

26 House Races Shift Towards Democrats

With less than a week to go, the PA-18 special election moves from Leans Republican to Toss-up. In addition to that ratings change, we are making 25 other changes in the House, all in favor of Democrats.
No Democratic incumbent is now rated worse than Likely Democratic, a nod to the reality that in a Democratic-leaning environment it will be difficult for Republicans to dislodge many or perhaps even any Democratic incumbents, though there are a handful of Democratic open seats that are more viable Republican targets.
After these ratings changes, for the first time this cycle we have fewer than 218 seats (the number needed for a majority) at least leaning to the Republicans.

The RCCC and conservative PACs have together spent about $8 million on this race thus far and their Democratic counterparts have spent about $200,000.

It makes no sense how much the Republicans have been dumping in this race.  Whomever wins will only serve for 10 months before the district is replaced by a more conservative district that Lamb, if he wins, will almost certainly lose in November.

On the other hand, according to the article the Democrat's centerpieces are machine guns and opposition to Pelosi.  So that part of the strategy is either smart in that district or the Democrat's "perfect candidate" is also kinda dumb.

This guy sounds like a dumbass, but it us sad that we define candidates' competence according to how much money they can raise.

Thats not a problem that would not be solved by eliminating private donations, but it shouldn't be the only metric of success either.

Because it exists in Pennsylvania and the SCOPA ruled the current Congressional maps in violation of the PA Constitution for excessive gerrymandering.  The Republican controlled PA house and senante were thinking about impeaching the 5 Democratic judges, not for any crime, but because the Republicans disagreed with this ruling.  The Republicans have the numbers, albeit barely, but they seem to have backed off this plan, so the new court-drawn maps look like they will go into effect.

They only backed off because people found out what they were trying to do. It's all about optics. They were perfectly willing to subvert the will of the voters so long as nobody knew what they were doing. National exposure on the issue caused them to slink back to their slime holes until media coverage blows over.
Fully expect them to try again as soon as the heat is off.

You're still looking at an area that went 20 points to Trump and now looks like it's turning blue. Also, democratic turnout in November will be high, I think if Lamb gets in, he stays in.

He doesn't actually oppose Nancy Pelosi, he opposes the fictional Nancy Pelosi who is a communist. The ads against him are like "Conor Lamb and LIBERAL NANCY PELOSI are going to raise your taxes, take all your guns, convert you to Islam, and replace your neighbors with illegal immigrants". He's with her when it comes to government power and single payer being bad.

The PA Supreme Court recently ruled that the GOP gerrrymander of the State's US HoR districts violated the State's constitution and ordered them redrawn.

The PA GOP came up with some even more gerrymandered districts so the PA SC had a statistician draw the districts instead. The proposed map, that will be used in November barring any court challenges, is much better than the last for Democrats, but still gives the PA GOP an outsize advantage.

Some districts got more competitive, some more liberal, and some, like the district Lamb is in, got more conservative.

The new districts are drawn as well as they can be, IMHO.  It's a massive improvement over what the GOP drew up.  My (R) congresscritter is actually starting to sweat, you can see it in his e-mails.
