Did he find a yearbook picture of his mom and think she was hot but used his dad as a cover for the idea of the movie?

My dad is not chatty about the past, but based on pictures of him, I would say my dad would have hated me if we went to high school together.

Or more accurately, he would not have even been aware of me.  Even if we were in the same classes.

Instead of a service, Mr. Gale asked his friends simply to gather together, swap anecdotes and eat Ted Drewes Oreo concretes.

Did the obit writer have a stroke at the end there? I mean, the words are in English, but they don't make any sense.

/a very heavy burtation tonight

Ted drewes is an 'ice cream shoppe' that had been around for close to a century. We have clones up here: kopps, culvers, chocolate factory, and some mom and pops. Dairy queen would like to be similar, but most of their stuff is pre packaged.

a concrete is frozen yogurt with a cookie or candy bar chopped and mixed in it. Kids like it with oreos. I have it with heath or butterfinger. It is my 'goto' post 8pm 'dad will be right back with a treat for y'all'

So actually, 'go out and have ice cream and think of me' is pretty, well, cool, i would say

Dont listen to that guy above me.

Ted Drewe's serves custard. Not ice milk like Dairy Queen, not ice cream like Baskin Robbins, but motherfarking custard with eggs and shiat. It is often immitatw d but never duplicated. And while any custard is better than DQ's flavorless bullshiat Ted Drewe's stands above Culvers and the rest.

And yet, i never made a comparison except for with DQ. St Louis is a 6 hour trip from here, and since ive never been there i cant compare to the others. Ill take what i got tho that is decent and 5 minites away.

But ar least we are in agreement DQ is flavorless shiat on a stick...

Everyone shut up about Back to the Future. The less it's in the news, the less chance some douchebag reboots it.

Hey now, I still think a serious sci-fi flick based on the original script (once linked here *many* years ago) would actually be pretty awesome. It was that seriousness that led to Scott Baio being replaced with Eric Stoltz first, before Spielberg decided to go full comedy with it.

Fun parts of the original script: Marty and the Doc worked on the side as video pirates (VHS back in the day), and the film definitely had a darker tone to it. That's more of the BTTF reboot I want.

They did that, with OODLES of ersatz, and it's called Rick & Morty. No, really. That's what the original idea for the show was, it mutated into black comedy about succeeding through failure.

Ahhh...that explains why the "doc" was always having those young high school boys over to his house.

Was it really necessary for the author of TFA to provide a synopsis of the plot to BTTF? Seriously, is there anyone on the planet who doesn't know what the movie is about?

Stephen Spielberg.

My dad was very chatty about his youth, pretty much everything up till he met his first wife.  The stories didn't make sense, till I saw his Army pic.  His many years of heavy drinking wasn't kind to him, but that pic explained why him and I wouldn't likely gone far together.  If we were to accidentally bump shoulders, I'm sure he would've decked me.  His stories aren't nice stories, mostly fights.  It also explains why he saw me as a disappointment growing up, but my outgoing, sport playing sis was the obvious favorite.  He's slowly coming around that I'm not a disappointment, considering I've exercised my talents, instead of drinking them away like he did.
