Skin in the game?

While Chao kept insisting that the two states offered to put up less than 5 percent of the cost, the original dealstruck with President Barack Obama's administration called for the states and federal government to each pay half. Christie and Cuomo announced that commitment in September 2015.
"We have offered a 50-50 split with the federal government," said Rep. Donald Payne Jr., D-10th Dist., a member of the committee. "You've not heard that?"
"We have a disagreement about the facts then," Chao said.
"I know this administration and their alternate facts," Payne responded.

I'm sure some Farker will be along shortly to explain to us how the President is only the President of the people that voted for him, and to give a big fark you to those who didn't is a perfectly normal response and we should just shrug our shoulders and stop talking about it.

No, this would (eventually) be a doubling of the Amtrak/NJ Transit capacity from Philly/Newark into Penn Station.  Eventually because, if it is ever built, the existing 110-year-old tunnels would then spend a year or more in (seriously needed) rebuilding.

We also need to start using 'trump' the way certain British dialects use it; as a slang term for a fart. We need to have schoolkids in the future laughing at the name of 'President Fart', just like they laugh at 'Tricky Dick'.

Since damnatio memoriaeisn't really a realistic option, turning the Trump name into even more of a joke than it is already is the most fitting punishment. And I hope Donny lives long enough to see that happen.

I hope they pay it back tenfold.  Yes, I'm serious.  Simply pass laws to keep all tax dollars within the county or similar level municipality from where it is collected.  If certain counties have to do without, then I guess people who live there will either have to pay their own f*cking way for a change or move to the cities. I'm through supporting a bunch of contemptuous crybaby ingrates. They can pay for their own roads, their own schools, their own post offices, and so forth.

Disagree.

We have had several decades of Republicans who care about destroying Liberals more than anything.

I'm okay with Democrat politicians that target Republican states and districts and refuse to support them.  Move military bases out of Republican states, deny funding for infrastructure projects in Republican states.  They've been supported economically by Democrats for decades, maybe they should be reminded of that.

Trump Tower will likely be shuttered in a few years anyway. A recent Forbes article about Trump's net worth going down by $400 million said Trump Tower's value fell by $41 million. Online commerce has hit the shopping centers there. There's a lot of floor space and only department stores need that much floor space. There's not any department stores looking to expand.

New Jersey was once a major industrial state, now it depends on access to NYC and Philly for jobs.  When the 100+ year old tunnels finally give out, and access to NYC is cut off, you can go ahead rename the place East Ohio.

Oh, Prez Trumpkins owns a lot of valuable real estate in Manhattan. When those leaky tunnels can no longer be patched with a truck load of Depends®, watch as the value of that real estate skyrockets.  So much winning.

CSB time:

I work for an idiot whose only skill was borrowing the seed money for the company from his parents. You think a spec on a cocktail napkin is bad? This moron couldn't even manage that. He'd just deliver a nonsensical word salad and expect that to be enough to make major changes to our software. One day I tried to politely explain the benefits of actually writing things down. His response, and I shiat you not this is a verbatim quote:

"You know, when you write things down it's like putting them into little boxes, and we really need out of the box thinking on this."

A good chunk of my lifetime's supply of willpower was expended in not strangling him right then and there.

Only the swing states deserve any kind of new, federally-funded infrastructure, I guess.

I'm starting to wonder whether EU, Chinese and Mexican boycotts of exports originating from Trump-voting states might make any difference to how this crap-show could play out.
