Huh, I wonder if the UK is really going to step up and do more than write sternly written letters with dry British wit about them

Ok . It's starting to get to the point where we need to deal with a resurgent Russia. It looks like the US is going to be up it's own bum for a while so we may have to band together as we have in the past. I'll bet the US waits till it can reap all rewards from joining the fight last minute while the rest dig out of the rubble, the way they have done in the past.

A chemical attack on British soil.  Obviously Putin has never watched a James Bond movie because he would know how this ends.

I agree with your thoughts.

However, we have a traitor or more in the White Hiuse. That complicated things for us now.

We should probably do something about that at the next opportunity.

Don't be asking this White House to get involved in a dispute between Russia and the United Kingdom. Trump the Russian traitor will come down on Putin's side, guaranteed.

Fun fact: a british agent, the head of the Russia desk, investigated the litvenko attack. He quickly ascertained it was a state sponseeed hit and was instrumental at tracking down two perpetrators. He's been described as unrelenting.

This man is Christopher Steele. He wrote the Trump dossier about the pee tape.

Yep. For some reason, our President refused to enforce bipartisan sanctions on Russia, despite them passing with a veto-proof majority. For some reason, he's refused to give the order for intelligence agencies to counter Russian interference in the upcoming election. For somereason, he'll shiat all over America and her closest allies, but absolutely refuses to criticize Russia. For some reason, he keeps getting caught giving sensitive intelligence to Russian diplomats in closed-door meetings.

This goes beyond incompetence. There is no reasonable explanation besides 'the President of the United States is a Russian asset, completely beholden to Vladimir Putin'.

I may be paranoid here, but I wonder whether this was a warning to Trump. Given that the spy AND his daughter were deliberately targeted, and exchange spies usually aren't. I wonder whether this wasn't a "Donnie, keep your assets in line or else we don't care if your daughter's involved or not" thing.

Y'all have got at least another three years out there on your own, Donny Two Scoops is clearly in the pocket of the Russkis, and the Republican Party isn't going to do anything about that.

Complain all you want about our delay entering into WW2, but America had an army the size of Portugal's in 1940 and needed time to expand it. We spent that time supplying you with arms, to the point of stripping our newest armored division to give the UK tanks.

You are just mad because American team is not participant, yes? You had no problem sending many athletes to win medals in Sochi Winter Olympics.

No, we knew America wasn't going to the World Cup once Sunil Gulati decided to keep Klinsi after the Brazil run. And Russia wouldn't be there either if not for them bribing FIFA in the first place back in 2013. How Russia stuck their dick in the World Cup is well documented, but the World Cup won't be the moneymaker Little Pooty hopes it to be.

Furthermore, I find it very nice that the Russians have gone from Polonium to advanced Nerve Gases, which requires advanced laboratories to develop. Way to throw away any plausible deniability that this was actually Russia, you vodka chugging morons.

Very nice indeed, using nerve gas against a political target in a NATO country.

Polonium is far more traceable. Based on the contaminants amongst the Po-210 we can tell which reactor in Russia it came from.

The list of places capable of getting Polonium is *extremely* short: USA, Russia, and probably En/Fr/De on short notice. Even shorter than the list of those capable of making nerve gas, because nerve agents are "just" a horrible combination of elements that exist ubiquitously on earth.

Either way, Trump's silence speaks volumes.

He also tipped the FBI and got them started investigating both FIFA's corruption and the money laundering ring operating out of Trump Tower.

The article talks about the difficulty of creating sarin. While it might have a poor shelf life it does not require specialized chemical factories to produce it. A fairly competent chemist with access to a decently stocked lab can make it. It had been used by a doomsday cult in Japan in the 1990's in a subway attack.

Yes. The polonium was meant to send a message. A long debilitating death, highly publicized, confirmed by medical professionals, along with a signature that was absolutely 100% the Russian government.

"You turn on us, this is what you get."

The Russian establishment hates traitors more than enemies of the state. It's in the culture.
