Actually, he probably is.  Unfortunately.

But don't bother, as you can't trust a word he says.

Because they're stupid.

The real story is Hillary Clinton doesn't even have White House security clearance.

Sadly terminated does not mean what I hoped it to mean in this case. :(

Unfortunately, Trump neither requires or would even pass a background check, so we're still screwed.

It is weird to see the government, an entity I have been taught my whole life is far too powerful and in control for my own good, be hollowed out like a melon by a moron who had the bad fortune to win a bet he was supposed to lose.

How out of touch does "The X-Files" feel right now?

Like, I feel lied to on so many strange levels, and weirdly relieved too.  Think how much damage Trump could have done with a competent government enforcing his Caligula like BS.

I was rather hoping for a kidnapping but it seems unlikely now that the entire world knows Kusher and his kin have less cash on hand than your average MS13 shot caller.

I've been reduced to hoping he contracts a raging case of Montezuma's revenge. "shiatting up the Mexicans" indeed.

I would love for him to be kidnapped.  We would see just how far Trump would go for his "son in law".  Ivanka would probably be on the phone saying "Cut our losses pop, I ain't getting caught in that 2 billion dollar note that is about to be called. Plus, we can pin all this shiat on him.  Besides see if we can get a 2-1 deal with Trudeaus wife, so I can be Mrs. Prime Minister of Canada, he is soooo dreamy!"

The whole thing makes my blood boil. All I can figure is the Republicanism is a sport and a religion, so when your quarterback fumbles and your team loses, you just watch Fox News so they can tell you your team actually won again.

Hypocrazy.

If I were the President of Mexico I would say to Jared

"Let us see here, you are more upside down in your own business than the Titanic hit the iceberg.  Now your other qualifications are you dropped a load in Ivanka's vagina, your dad paid 2.5 million dollars to get you into Harvard(when your high school said you didn't have the gpa or scores to even think about applying) your father hired a hooker to seduce his own brother in law, and you have tried to solicit funds from some of the shadiest people on this side of the planet.

We here in Mexico or not strangers to nepotism, golden vagina births, but we have worked hard to change all that, so my words to you, are get the fark out of my office, tell that orange bollo de mierda that even sending you was a farking insult, and do not forget your farking shine box."

Weird, but completely expected.  I even wrote an article called Preparing for Kakistocracy in anticipation of their transparent shenanigans.

They came in explicitly to Nerf, grift, privatise, and profiteer from the Executive branch.  They never even pretended otherwise.

Why isn't a background check a pre req for being pres? Does that need to be a constitutionally amended change or could Congress change that with a simple bill?

With how much this administration lies, and how 40% of the country thinks the charge of lying is itself a lie (fake news, deep state), I think it might actually for once be useful for these countries to record every single meeting and then use it as blackmail against the administration. *shrug*

In fact we have a very good chance of getting crappy trade deals *because of Trump* rather than him fixing them.

If we have any true allies left, they should release the tapes so it's crystal clear what liars and grifters there are in this administration. If there's no accountability, the voters themselves perpetuate the problem by being allowed to believe in fiction.

I don't think the founders would have predicted a widespread desire by the electorate to self immolate. OH BUT EXCEPT THEY DID. And that's why they had the Electoral College. But even that failed to work as described in Federalist 68. If you take Hamilton's proposal to the extreme, you wouldn't even see the actual presidential candidate's names on the ballot. You'd vote for people in your state, who you think are deliberative smart good creative people, who also *aren't* politicians. The top vote getters then go off and have a deliberation on who should be president. The person with the most Elector votes is president, the person with the second most Elector votes is Veep.

Can you imagine a system less prone to money influence, tribalism, and squabbling? But I digress.

I think it's a constitutional amendment because the constitution specifies the requirements for being president, and a background check isn't in that list. States could still put a person on a primary ballot even if they had not had such a background check. And if that person wins enough delegates, in the totally private and proprietary primary system where laws don't apply merely party rules apply, then they're placed on the general election ballot.

But we'll see. Maybe the parties realist what a black hole they've created, entirely voluntarily, and if they dodge a bullet they decide to apply this to their own rules. OH BUT EXCEPT WE GOT THIS CLOSE TO THE EVENT HORIZON IN 2000, with the whole "hanging chad" thing. And they really didn't fix it at all.

These people are numb nuts. Paul Ryan is actively telling his caucus not to rattle Trump. He's scared of Trump. We have a bowl of milquetoast as 3rd in line.
