Manning wants to be a Senator. He doesn't want the attachment.

And I know it says he remains their spokesperson, but I doubt we'll be seeing him again in an ad for them.

I think it would depend on whether or not he informed the buyer.

Loosely speaking if Peyton knew but didn't disclose the information, it could amount to Fraudulent Misrepresentation. (This is not specific to franchises, but part of contract law generally.) Of course, it's harder to prove misrepresentation by withholding information than by falsely claiming something but it's still a thing. He won't go to prison, but a court might undo the contract and possibly force him to pay a penalty.

Haven't they been simply told to suspend all operations for the next few years?  Kind of like how the FBI wasn't supposed to investigate Saudis during 2000-2001?

I don't think you can sell a bunch of Papa John's franchises quite the same way you can go onto a website and sell a few million dollars of GM stock.  If Payton Manning managed to finish the deal two days ahead of time (without disclosure), I'm sure there will be a big lawsuit: anyone who can afford that many franchises can afford a pretty impressive lawyer.

didn't he own 15 or so franchises?  One doesn't just sell them in a week.  The sale may have been in progress for months.  Having worked in a law firm, i've seen single store business take over a year for the sale to complete.

/not a lawyer, just worked for them.

probably the other way around.
PJ's knew he was trying to sell and waited until he did before making the announcement. Manning probably did not know about it. They would do that so as not to piss him off.

Ahhh. Thanks! as someone up thread pointed out, it takes a long time to organize a sale of that magnitude,  so that makes more sense .

I'm not really sure there is much magnitude. Notice TFA says that he sold his "stake" in 31 franchises. Was he the sole owner or just a vanity investor?

I would assume vanity investor.  I have a hard time believing he had ANYTHING to do with the franchises other than probably showing up at some to sign autographs.

I assume he just sold his stake.  Probably to the other owners of the same franchises.  That could be done in a few weeks.

I base it on the large amounts of money he gives to Republicans and the fact that he is worshipped in TN.

Silly question. Woke socialists don't dare patronize pizza joints - as pizza is a symbol of cultural appropriation. Plus it's got meat and cheese, so it's not vegan friendly. They get their food from an LGBTQIAAPP++ of color commune. It's kinda like a farmer's market for the global and cultured citizen.

Exactly it.  I wouldn't have given a damn otherwise, personally.  I don't disown my conservative friends for their beliefs, we just tacitly and mutually agree not to discuss such things.

I'll leave it at that before the 'taxes err teft' cats continue to try and bury their turd on the tile floor.
