Why bother?  People that have the guns Obama didn't take can just shoot them.

Today's quiz: which President allowed CC in national parks, and which one said, "Take the guns first, go through due process second." The answer should not surprise you.

I know trump is the anti-due process one...he said this despite having JUST saying due process is important. why, again, do people believe this man?

iirc, Obama allowed cc in nat'l parks

Wasnt there some case about a paraplegic and remote-control guns?  That sounds vaguely familiar...

Why is it assinine? If someone flies a drone over an airport it is possible to crash them into a plane's engine or even attach a small explosive to one and put it on a one way mission to run into a plane while on the ground.

Imagine a drone capbable of delivering an amazon package of 25lbs carrying 25lbs of explosives into an airplane loaded with fuel, or dropping contraband into jail?

I haven't been annoyed by a douche with a drone in months. I'm honestly shocked by that fact. Maybe I overrated their annoyance potential.

The effort has been underway for months and it involves a number of US agencies, but didn't specify many details of the plan.

A foolish consistency of EVERY Trump administration policy. They don't know how, but they're gonna STIGGIT.

Actually, I doubt you've *ever* been annoyed by a drone. Stop making up stories.

You would be wrong. Had a neighbor (I assume) that used to fly his over the neighborhood every Sunday morning like clockwork. At the time, Sunday mornings were my chill on the patio/work in the garden time. He would hover of folks houses and scope out their backyards, including mine. After several weeks he treed it a block over. At least I assume it was the same one. Looked like it and I never saw the thing again.

Too bad. because I had dug out my wrist rocket and never got a chance to give it a try.

//went on some Fark rants about it at the time.

Hmmm, first you register your drones then the confiscations happen...... why does that sound familiar?

That would be such an incredibly bad idea.  I believe this is from Arizona law, but damaging nearly any drone ($250 plus value) that can fly more than 100 feet from the pilot would be a class 1 misdemeanor.  Damaging any "good" drone ($1000 plus value) is a felony.

Yeah, we had a thread about that incident. The guy had the charges dropped.

The law is unsettled about where the line is drawn on invading the privacy of your neighbors by spying on them by hovering a drone over their private property.

I'd sue for invasion of privacy, harassment, stalking, whatever and take my chances with a jury.

Don't be a dick drone enthusiasts.

Yeah, but then you take away that option from proper patriots when they raise their insurrection to crush the lib-- er.. uphold the constitution.

I agree completely.  I honestly use my drone more to do favors for people (pictures/video of their property, surveys of land, family pictures), but I never fly less than 100 feet above property that isn't mine, and I never fly over people.

That being said, if someone is 10/20 feet above you and you are in a public place and drone flying isn't prohibited you damaging their drone is illegal.  Just like with any hobby, the idiots give the rest of the people a bad name.

Even 100' is dicey. You're not clearly into FAA jurisdiction until you're higher than permitless antennae height.

Max legal height is 400 feet.  A hundred feet is well above any trees where I am and at the height it is audible, but not loud.  I usually max out the height unless I am framing an image or video, but the higher the drone the better the visual.  The only reason I'd go lower is if you're trying to get more detail or something you want to fill the image.

I've mellowed on my drone hate. This was a couple summers ago and I figured it was the first of a wave of them in my hood. It wasn't and I haven't had a negative experience since. Have fun.

I really would have shot it down though and dealt with the consequences had he not treed it.
