The stupid part about this is this is WHY political parties have "non-official" talking heads out there for them on TV... I mean, it isn't like Democrats never have people who are advocating for their positions on shows or suggesting who should be voted for and such... they just don't have official positions in the government.  If you thought KellyAnne was better used to be on TV all the time, then, let her do that independently, don't bring her into the govt.

The OSC found that Conway violated the Hatch Act on two occasions and referred its findings to President Trump "for appropriate disciplinary action."

So Trump and Conway going to dress in their leathers and Trump is going to walk her around on a leash?

Or at the very least you're not crazy about the current administration being full of thieves, liars, hypocrites, and bastards criminals.

Soooo... not only was the violation not a violation, it was actually a great example of her going to significant lengths in upholding the law.

If Fox News is bullshiat mountain, this administration is Olympus Mons.

Just don't tell Donny or he'll mistake it for a different word and try to grab it.

2018-03-06 02:10:07 PM
Didn't these guys say they were going to restore "law and order" to the nation?  They won't even superficially police their own administration.

I'm shocked, shocked by this unpresidented Republican hypocrisy.

2018-03-06 02:10:08 PM
Kellyanne never supported a candidate. She just denigrated and slandered one candidate and said no one should vote for him, in a two candidate race.

2018-03-06 02:11:02 PM
If Conway violated the act, then Trump did too.

And spank him with a copy of Forbes.

Hmm, in the WH response, you have:

"She simply expressed the president's obvious position that he have people in the House and Senate, who support his agenda," deputy White House press secretary Hogan Gidley said in a statement.

But later on, the article shows:

The Hatch Act prohibits those working in the executive branch from using their official capacities to advocate for or against political candidates.

So, the WH admits that yes, Kellyanne did indeed say those things, but she didn't mean them the way that anyone with half a brain would interpret them. They simply just are.

There's a green article, but it's light green. Not full bold green.

2018-03-06 02:17:50 PM
And the White House's response would be:

A) "Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken and she will be more careful in the future."

B) "Nuh-uh."

Huh, who'd have thunk it?

in order for this to be prosecuted, we would need congress to be adults.

So, more nothing to add to the fire i suppose.

Well, since Trump is king, it's official, she didn't violate shiat...

Funny how Trump accused Obama of actually being a dictator, yet seems to think that's exactly how being president works.

Yeah,  they've been doing this for the whole term.
They ain't gonna change.
Like when the economy crashes and they'll insist that it's doing fine. As long as they don't suffer,  they'll keep on going on the same track.

Yeah  when did they start doing that? Fark is gonna be pretty empty if they start tagging inaccurate headlines. What's next? A day in the stocks for submitters who don't read the articles they submit?

In our system, if the President does not "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed" the only way to correct that is impeachment. But since Republicans don't really care about laws being faithfully executed (unless it serves their partisan interests) nothing will be done until 2019 at the earliest.

Just a stupid toothless law that will be ignored anyway. No wonder it's named after Hatch.

I'm a little confused by this. Does the Hatch Act not apply to the president?  I mean, Obama stumped hard for Clinton in 2016. Why is that not a violation?

Frankly, I'm having a hard time ginning up more than a 'meh' over this one.

Then haul yourself off to a mental institution and demand you be committed. It should be pretty affordable for you since (I believe) Canada's health care system covers in-patient mental health care.
