(Uproxx)   In tonight's AAC action, Cincinnati kept it close with UConn. Just kidding, they were held to five points in the 1st half   ( uproxx.com) divider line

Shouldn't a sports article about one game include the final score?

AAC? All Auriemma Conference?

God Bless Connecticut. We don't like to stress our seniors' hearts too much so we give them the Lady Huskies. Those March Madness games get a little too close for comfort so we put them on at night so Ol' Skipper Benson and his wife Judy don't crash the Buick past their bed time.

And we don't miss the Whalers. Nosiree not one bit.

Does anyone care about the score in a women's basketball game?

Yeah, but it's women's college basketball. Not knocking them by any means, it's just that the sport consists of, right now, UConn and everyone else.

Expect when miracles happen, like when Mississippi State knocked them out in the Final Four last year.  It's Breaking News whenever the UConn women lose anytime.  I was at a bar while the game was going on, and everyone was riveted by it.

That being said, they be mad.  Pray to God you don't get put in their bracket.

Speaking for myself, I do not. Nor do I care that they can't dunk.

They do, however, have good fundamentals. That's more fun to watch.

There should be a mercy rule for high school/college basketball.  If you're down by 40/50 points, the game should either be stopped/declared over or at least played with a running clock for the rest of the game.

No, because the games are terrible.

Maybe the university should issue an official apology like that high school did recently for a lopsided win.

There was a period where it did look like women's college basketball was moving towards parity more like you see in the men's game, but then UConn just went up to another level and it's even more lopsided than it's ever been.  It's my feeling that a dynasty can be good for its sport, in that it gives you something to root against, but you have to have the possibility that the dynasty team can be beaten.  I mean, the New England Patriots play that role in the NFL, but they do lose occasionally.  If they'd run through the playoffs year after year winning every game by scores like 70-10, I think interest in the NFL would really be hurting.

Geno doesn't apologize to anybody.  Though he does cry like a baby when he doesn't get his way.

I was in attendance three years ago when Virginia's men held Harvard to 8 in the first half .

Headline pops up on my phone yesterday, "Cincinnati ends UConn's 38-0 run with a......"

I'm thinking, "Holy shiat. UConn lost!"
I just imagined that UConn's win streak was 38-0 and Cincy ended it, but after clicking on the article, I saw that UConn had gone on a 38-0 run during the first half and Cincy finally hit a 3 to end the run!
