Wait, the game Rampage?
If we keep going retro in video game movies it won't be long for "Pong!" starring ... probably The Rock. Maybe Nick Cage. Both?

/ And if Hasbro gets their way ... "Parcheesi"

Adam Sandler shat on a lot of classic titles. Zork might be one to try, complete with the frustrations of giving commands to an idiot servant.

My family liked Pixels. It was a fun, goofy movie. It wasn't Casablanca, but they weren't making Casablanca.

It'll probably still make money since it sounds like a viable option for moviegoers shut out of Avengers (though in this day and age, people probably already have their tickets when they get to the theater).

Yeah, I really enjoyed Wreck It Ralph, much more than I thought I would when it first came out.  I watched the trailer for WIR2 and it does look better than The Incredibles 2.  Hard to say that since I'm a huge The Incredibles fan but...we'll see which one is actually better.

After Jumanji, I am willing to try out action comedies and this seems to fit into that mold pretty well.

Surprising number of well produced giant monster movies these days.

I am sure they take it into account. You don't stay the biggest, baddest mid on the block by ignoring the other guys, you grind them into dust. It wouldn't be an overriding factor, but also not irrelevant.

But I believe them that they wanted to shift to a simultaneous worldwide release this time. And I hope they make that their new normal

a star wars flick may not get "crushed to dust" against infinity war, but I bet a sw flick would get kicked around pretty good by iw.

my unneeded $0.02 - iw looks far too busy for my tastes...just how many marvel characters can 1 movie hold? I saw so many in a 1 minute or so trailer, I fully expect howard the duck to make an appearance in the movie!

Nobody will ever find out, even if they were different distributors they would never go head to head. But I would guess:

Non-Episode Star Wars movie vs Infinity War?
Avengers will easily come out on top.

Episode IX vs non-Avengers MCU?
Episode IX would kick ass.

Episode IX vs Infinity War?
I would lean on Episode IX but it could go either way depending on the buzz etc.

Non-Avengers MCU vs non-episode Star Wars?
No idea. Probably highly variable.

Howard is more of an in-joke for Jame Gunn's credit gags.
But remember that these characters have mostly had at least two movies worth of development apiece. There are 50-something characters, sure, but we don't need a lot of establishing moments to see the drama of the situation. If War Machine and Gamora don't get a ton of screen time but are still in the big wide shots, we still know what's going on with them. For something on this scale, that's probably good enough.

honestly, of the newer string of marvel movies, I've seen the 3 iron man movies, the first thor, and the first avengers movie...and that's probably about as much as I can handle...mcu overload! although I would watch the gotg movies if they'd put vol1 on netflix/hulu...vol2 is on there, but I'm not watching it without seeing vol1 first
