Maybe, just a chance it was not a UFO, maybe when the later photo was taken the moon had changed position in relationship to the sun and the shadow disappeared.

Some of you would contend the right of Donald Trump as president. Others would observe the shadows of obvious lunar interference, and bow in shame.

Kind of like how bigfoot hunters snap photos of blobsquatches.  It's about as cool as a rubber mask in a block of ice.

I always laugh at that shiat.. In the age of 4k video, video cameras that can record 1080p and above that fit in the pockets of our pants every modern day video of this shiat makes 280p Youtube videos seem HD

Its the shadow of an object over the moon.  You can see the object slightly to the right.   As for what it is... im going with an asteroid. The reason is that if his setup is similar to what i use on the moon he gets 1/2 mile per pixel resolution on the surface making that object at least 4 miles diameter.

Moth on the lens?

2018-03-06 7:44:30 AM
You are never looking at a raw CCD image... you are looking at something that has undergone substantial processing to clean the image.  There is always the possibility that the cleaning introduces errors.

For cleaning, typically you take multiple images - like the two shown in the article - and the software uses them to try to determine what is real, and what for example is CCD noise or a cosmic ray strike.

But it is not always successful.  So question one when looking at images like this is, is it an artifact of the instrument or processing?  You have to prove it is not before moving to question 2... what is it?

If it is real, it is likely two different shadows that happen to be of relatively the same size, but one got emphasized in processing of one image, and the other got emphasized in processing of the other.

Or it could be a gnat flying in front of the telescope.  Happens.

Sure, that's just what you want us to believe, you filthy Moon-man collaborator. Lull us into a false sense of security and before we know it we'll be over-run with the gangly silver barskets, strutting up & down our main streets making their peep peep noises, stealing our wimmen & takin; our jerbs. Just try building a wall to keep them out! They'll just fly right over it.

FTA: UFO watchers are speculating the unidentified flying object was hovering above the hilly lunarscape and could be evidence of an airbase on the Moon.

How you gonna have an "airbase" where there ain't no air?

True, they did.   You can identify the object causing the shadow in the images.

It appears to tumble between the two frames so if it's an ID4 sized ship it's being flown by Launchpad McQuack.

A 4 mile wide asteroid hitting the moon would make a pretty neat bang.
