I dont like this. I want Jerruh focused on the draft right now so he can push his team down further with draft picks. If he gets all revenge driven against Goodell he might let somebody competent handle roster decisions

Can they both lose?

That headline sucks worse than the Cowboys, and that's terrible

Alkoholiker: How about they get a „competent" coach? Cowboys have drafted really well

While I don't think Garrett is a top-5 coach or anything, I also think no one knows exactly what he can and can't do. He's never been given the full control and autonomy to run the team, and constantly has to deal with whatever dumb edict has descended from on high. (You know, like "play this guy we just signed even though he's a known disaster" and "cut this guy who got wrongly accused of something without first looking into it".)

tl;dr:Horseshiat.

Rant:

Garrett refuses to make in-game adjustments, and is ROUTINELY kicked in the head in the third quarter.

Dallas scores 2.9 PPG in the third.  That's an effing field goal.  Fifteen minutes and you can manage one field goal?  That's good for 29th in the league.

Dallas' defense allows twice that - 6.1 PPG in the third.  That's the second worst in the NFL.  While that may be a misleading stat, then they follow it up by allowing 6.8 PPG in the fourth.

They counterbalance that by scoring 7.5 in the fourth, but they're still giving up about a field goal lead in every single second half.  With a team that's built to play close games, Garrett then gets praised for "calling a fourth quarter comeback" and the like - never mind that they wouldn't need to come back if they had a competent defense in the third quarter - or an offense that could score, well, at all.  Teams adjust and take the 'Boys completely out of the game in the third.

This, also, is the offense that almost never scores a TD on the opening drive of the game - I think it happened once in 2017, and that's seemingly once for Garrett's entire coaching life with the Cowboys.  They settle for FG time and again because the offense stagnates in the red zone.  I don't want to look up the stats to prove this, since I'm at work, but it is a point of discussion in nearly every national broadcast for the 'Boys.

The thing is, though - you could put an all-star cast of the ghosts of Knute Rockne, Woody Hayes, Tom Landry, and Lombardi himself on the Cowboys sideline, and the team would still be shiat. Jerruh is all about the spectacle, and not about the product.  He doesn't draft well (after the first round in particular) and signs no one in FA that winds up sticking or making much of a difference.  He finds "splashy" guys whose best days are long behind them, or who simply want one more paycheck.

When he had unlimited resources to throw around, he won super bowls.  On a level playing field, he's played catch up for twenty five years now, and has never "caught up."  The Cowboys will be a middling to bad team (with occasional bubbles up to good) until Jerruh is dead or sells the team - and the second won't happen.

Yes, blaming Redball for the Cowboys ineptitude isn't quite right - but Garrett is DEFINITELY part of the problem.  Jerruh just doesn't care about solving it since he makes a billion dollars every year.

He sounds just like Mark E. Smith.
