Great shot, but he took about four steps. He caught the ball, walked back two steps to get in position, then walked another two steps to his right.

An absolutely amazing shot, but there's no way in hell that should have been allowed.

Garbage travel and coward refs.

2018-03-04 01:41:54 AM
It's possible the ref wasn't looking closely, and thought the ball hit the ground when the kid stumbled.

It's more likely the ref got lazy and didn't want to make any calls at the last second.

the shooter must be a sovereign citizen, " I am traveling. "

There is another angle somewhere that shows that he clearly dribbled when standing up, it's just hidden from this camera view.

Huh, so he did. They were cheering loud enough in the bleachers that you couldn't hear the ball hit the floor in the YouTube video.

Seriously. Not only the presence of mind to take the shot immediately, but to dribble to avoid the travel.

Well, yeah,  this doesn't look like an NBA game, where 6 steps a shake and bake and a moonwalk to the basket is considered a layup.

2018-03-04 02:47:03 AM
I can't believe anyone mentioned a freakin' travel. If it was the NBA he could have taken three more steps and no one would say a word. don't care if they want to throw out the rule. But it does bug me that the refs let it go at the highest level but not elsewhere.

I love that one for the tip of the utterly pants-on-head-up-ass throwaway and the double celebration until MV figures out they farked up. The kid who did the throwaway has to need therapy after that.

This. Never sing it unless you're up by more than five or six, and and NEVER sing it before 30 seconds out. (Not that this violates the second rule, but it needs to be said.)

Why didn't the inbounder give it to the kid in front of him?

Foolkiller: Why didn't the inbounder give it to the kid in front of him?

The thought was probably that if they inbounded too close to the rim it would be possible for the other team to intercept, or steal, and put it in. They figured there was no way there'd be time for that if he just tossed it full court

I never understood why the inbounder on the team with a lead doesn't simply look for a fairly open lane and just "bowl" the ball. The clock starts when the ball touches a player, and it's a lot harder to get a clean handle on a ball below the knees, especially if it bounces off somebody.

I'm overthinking this, but you probably can't roll it perfectly, in that you can't be in contact with the ball while it's on the ground as you release it, so you're stuck trying to almost roll it and it'll bounce a little.

If your hand is on the ball when it's on the ground, it's out of bounds on you, whether the ball is in or out of bounds.

Just give it to the closest guy (he's wide open for a moment), take the foul maybe he gets one or two, then defend with 1 second left.

As for rolling the ball, same thing. Throw it so hard that after he touches it he CAN'T hold on to it and the scramble runs out the clock. Or throw it at someone's feet.
