It's just human nature. People don't like teachers blowing up their kids!

I thought that was an Artemis Fowl reference,  but I was wrong .
The two characters were Trouble Kelp and Julius Root.

My parents took me and my brother to the drive-in to see this. The only reason was because Jerry Lewis did a Buddy Love routine standing on the rooftop of the concession stand. My bro and I were so impressed we headed up to the playground between movies and missed it. It never struck me until later in life that Jerry Lewis was doing drive-in gigs, back then he was still kinda of big deal.

Yes.  THIS is Jerry Lewis's "masterpiece."  The prosecution rests.  #ThePeopleVsJerryLewisIsFunny?

Try explaining to people how it is based on a Robert Louis Stevenson novel.

I remember seeing this movie as a kid and wondering why he didn't act like Buddy Love in more of his movies. The slapstick idiot routine didn't do much for me.

I also would like to point out that The Absent Minded Professor is far better than Flubber.

In Minneapolis, in the late 60s, there was a lunch time children's show called "Lunch with Casey," that aired on channel 11. It features Casey Jones as an old timey train engineer, and Roundhouse Rodney as his sidekick.

One day Jerry Lewis came to visit. On a lunchtime children's show. Comedy gold, right?

Not even slightly. He arrived in blue blazer, silk ascot, and wearing a pinky ring. He promoted some local worthy cause benefit, in his blasé detached Buddy Love voice, and never so much as cracked a smile.

This had been on YouTube in the past.

You would have loved it.

I said he should act like Buddy Love in more movie roles, not that he should be like Buddy Love in real life.
