i've wanted to see the Infinity War saga on the big screen since I was a kid.

Black Panther is a good film. I'd be milking it too, if I were in charge.

Going by the Infinity War trailer, it already looks like some of the action takes places in Wakanda.

Wouldn't every MCU movie be doing its best to capitalize off the popularity of the last MCU movie?  They haven't really had a stinker yet, just less amazing ones.  They're the Pixar of comic book movies.

Ummmm, that is the purpose of each Marvel movie, isn't it? To capitalize off of the popularity of the previous one, or off of the T.V shows.

ongbok: Ummmm, that is the purpose of each Marvel movie, isn't it? To capitalize off of the popularity of the previous one, or off of the T.V shows.

The stories all link up. Right from the first Hulk one, and Iron Man.

Some are backstories for the main ones (Thor, Spiderman)  ... some are backstories for a character (like Ant Man) who shows up briefly to add to the fun of a bigger one (Civil War). Which will then make more sense to have him in Infinity War, with all the other characters, and maybe even some new ones.

Marvel fans will sh*t bricks if they somehow wedge Wolverine in there. Even for a brief cameo.

I know I will!

Even though they are Marvel, the X-Men and the Avengers are two different universes So I seriously doubt that would happen as Marvel always kept them separate. .

Nah there've been lots of crossovers between the two in comics.

Even special comics where there'd be a fight between just two of them. I remember Wolverine fighting Hulk for eg.

Fox had their recent 'going out of business sale', and Marvel Studios got the X-Men back.  It remains to be seen what happens next.

It seems probable that the meteor that delivered vibranium to Wakanda was wrapped around an Infinity Stone.

That's a very thick and indestructible wrapping.

We've already got the Mind Stone and the Time Stone on Earth, and the Space Stone used to be on Earth.  Seems like overkill already to have that many Stones here.

I read one fan theory that perhaps Heimdall has the Soul Stone.  And that would be how he can watch what goes on all over the Nine Realms at once.

Any MCU movie puts me to sleep, literally. I remember it took me 6 times to finish Avengers (either the 1st or 2nd one, I cannot remember because of lack of interest), and Captain America Civil War, around 5 times. Such a bore these are. I will probably see Black Panther, due to the super generic hype, and will more likely be immune to its charm. Have not been impressed with any movie lately really.
Can't every movie just come out in Mystery Science Theater format?

If they're so obviously not your taste whatsoever, why waste your time with them? It's like a real meat-loving carnivore person suddenly deciding to repeatedly eating only vegan meals in order to just complain about how bad they are.

There's a lot more to life than just complaining.

Speaking of...did I mention, I am a vegetarian ( my love of cheese keeps me from claiming vegan status). We like to mention that we are when given the opportunity. I made enchiladas the other night with fake meat crumbles. Even the kids could not tell the difference.
But yeah, because everybody just cannot like the movies. Criticism is so neccesary, especially with these big budget generic fests

On Fark, you don't get to comment on MCU or Star Wars films you've seen unless you like them.

If you hate the Beatles or the Stones, however, snark away.

Glad I could clear that up.

The stones attract each other. So depending on which stone came here first, soul if in wakanda, or the time stone they would have started trying to bring the other stones to them. Space stone doesn't come to earth till 900 b.c. when Odin hides it on earth.

My wife is a MCU fan, so we will see A:IW regardless of who/what is in it. She is glad that the change in the release date didn't push it into the tax season!

We didn't see Black Panther until three days after the release, weren't all that many people in the theater, but it was playing in two of the eight and is still in both.

That'd be apt.  Not awful, but definitely didn't rise to the quality established by other movies.

Not anymore its not.

Black Panther introduced a weakness to vibranium (that field used to transport it), so using one of those field generators will allow you to cut through Cap's shield and Vision.

I think after Infinity War, they should take a break from the larger epic story building and do a year or two of anthologies based on Marvel Team-Up.  Just do some team ups where maybe the world isn't at stake.

Ant-man and Wasp was originally on the schedule before Infinity War, so it's tough to say. Also there's on set picks of Paul Rudd and the other Avengers in there suits from the first Avengers, so chances are time travel is involved or dimension hoping or clones or an earth x nobody knows.

I think you've blocked Iron Man 3 from your collective memories. Not Man of Steel bad, but not good either. It had a more convoluted plot with and sillier third act than Ultron. If Stark had just released his army of suits in the first act the problem would have been solved in 10 minutes.

I'm buying as much DIS as I can afford on Monday. Between the Marvel movies, Star Wars, the theme park expansions (yes, "Avatar" may have sucked as a movie, holy sheeeeeeet is the Avatar section they just added in Orlando COOL in person! And the new Star Wars hotel?!), the cruise line expansion, Pixar, and on, and on. It's going to be a solid piece if my retirement portfolio.

It could easily be set beforeInfinity War...but it still seems incredibly unlikely they'd release a movie starring a hero they killed in the previously released film.

As part of my undergrad we had to manage a "virtual" portfolio for a semester. $1M to start, minimum 1 trade per week, whoever had the highest return by the end if the semester won a free pass on their lowest grade or something. And you had to prove up your trades; what research you did, strategy, etc. The lady who won bought Berskshire Hathaway Class As, Disney, McDonalds, and Walmart. Her analysis/strategy was: "I'm a single mom with three kids, and I know they're all making money from me, anyway. And if I can't trust Warren Buffet with my 'big' money, then who the hell CAN I trust?" That was pre 2008-her mock portfolio is portfolio is probably worth $10M by now, at least.
