I went for grilled chicken for the vaguely Tex-Mex-themed salad; it just felt right. In fact, this whole salad feels right. I never would have expected a McDonald's salad to be so satisfying. It's the same greens mix as the other salad, plus tortilla strips, beans, corn, chicken, Newman's Own "Southwest" dressing, even a lime wedge - this is impressive

Troof. That dressing is the shiat.

Culver's has a grilled chicken salad with cashews. That's my go to fast food salad.

Salad?! I get tomato and jalapenos on my bacon cheeseburger. Does that count, or should I add lettuce?

I can't make heads or tails out of that link.
But Chick-fil-a salads rock. And they're a lot more filling than their sandwiches.

I buy a batch of dark greens on the weekend.
I scrub the sink, and toss them in there and shock them in ice water.
While they soak and the dirt falls to the bottom of the sink (Leave a gap of water under the salad, put a good lot of water in)
Then I slice up the onions, radishes, red cabbage, cukes, and other things, carrots, peppers, and toss in the sink to shock them. Toss it few times, pausing between tosses.
This process removes dirt, and re-hydrates the cut plant cells, allowing them to retard oxidation.
Once thoroughly shocked, I put the salad in a spinner and remove all water, and dump in a huge bowl with moist paper-towels lining it and cover and place in the fridge.
When I want a salad, for lunch and dinner, and I do, because I am staying in shape, I just grab a handful and toss in some cherry tomatoes.

I keep it right inside the door of the fridge so it is the first snack I can grab.
You can put other topper right there, croutons, cheese, slices of meat, pepperoni slices, just park them right next to it.
Bury the sweets.
Keep a big jar of olives, or pickled veggies and olives near by to fancy it up.

If you live in the southeast, Zaxby's has the only fast food salad worth eating. There's one near my work that I hit up regularly

Can't remember which one it was - Burger King or McDonalds - but the wife and I were catching a flight back to East Midlands from Dublin a few years ago, and it was the last flight out of Dublin that night - around 11:00 pm. We went through security around 9:00 pm and wanted some soakage before heading to the bar. The aforementioned fast food outfit was closing - and they were the last. I had some sort of lardburger and Mrs Luckyeddie had a salad.

Apparently it was crap, but you knew that anyway.

As long as it's all drenched in ranch dressing, that sounds pretty okay maybe.

I'll order a salad sometimes when I take my kids to a fast food joint.
/which doesn't happen often.
//so, there you go.

Some fast food salads can be pretty good.  I'd eat these any time:
-Farmer Boys Chef Salad
-Chik-fil-A Cobb Salad
-El Pollo Loco Creamy Cilantro Side Salad
-Subway (build your own)
-McDonald's Bacon Ranch Chicken Salad

Burger King, Wendy's, Jack in the Box, etc... I'd avoid.  The aforementioned companies have better quality control on lettuce than most other fast food joints.

I'm not a salad guy usually, but that looks, you know, edible.

So I found this weird and interesting article, submitted it to Fark.  Some before me found it and submitted it and it was redlit but twenty pictures of iceberg lettuce in black plastic containers is just okay.

SO..You..CAN win friends with salad?

Worked at McD's for a bit while I was in High School.  When closing, we'd have to throw away a bunch of food - salads included.  I would pop the top on the salads before throwing in the trash and I'd mash my face into them to grab a mouthful of the toppings (shrimp on the shrimp salads, ham/cheese on the chef salad, etc).

So.... yea.... end of fast food salad related post.

Going to McDonalds for a salad is like going to a prostitute for a hug.

For lunch I want to escape the cubicle farm but there aren't a lot of nearby options if you want to at least pretend to eat healthy and fast foods salads aren't that bad.  I like the Wendy's Mediterranean salad, it's tasty, filling and isn't a calorie bomb.  Of course the hard part is ordering a salad while smelling cooking meat and french fries.

Craisin for a braisin'?
