There's been a lot of twitch stuff posted lately... This chick at least sounds funny and is trolling the trolls. Who the fark still swats people FFS, get a life.

People love to hate on others and she is providing a service to them.

Also, I won't disparage streamers who use sex appeal, all genders do it, it's a dog-eat-dog world on the streams and you gotta do what you gotta do.

I'm a female gamer who mostly does it in her pjs, I'm just streaming my regular D&D games and some video games. It's more to fund my hobby then anything else.

If you don't like titty streamers, don't watch them. Get over the fact that guys are going to give them attention while ignoring you because you don't have to tits and/or good content.

People who rage against tit streamers are kind of hilarious.   The people on her channel aren't going to suddenly move to yours if she were to stop streaming.

Twitch's intolerable ad schemes are way more offensive than anything she might do while gaming.   I'll stick to my Youtube subscriptions.

The vast majority of popular streamers are successful because of things other than the games. Mostly being able to crack jokes and interact with the audience in a compelling way.

Not in today's market, but back when that comic was published, possibly.

If you think of it this way, Super Mario Bros was released in 1985.  So, the parents were predicting 20 years into the future.  In 1985 the average income was almost $17,000, and if they didn't adjust for inflation than $95,000 in 1985 today would be around $225,000.  Even if you calculated it in 2005 numbers that is still around $125,000 today.

The Kaceytron stream has changed over the years. Sometimes, she says, people tell her that her schtick is done. "People act like if I stopped showing cleavage, I'd stop getting donations and views," Caviness said. "That's completely false."

Well, yea, she used the Hilton and Kardashian approach to find a viewerbase.  Now she has an audience, and, as we've seen, they don't go away when you stop showing the goods, at least in the immediate sense.

One moment that stands out from my viewing last night was when one of the players suddenly remembered they had a 'heat metal' spell which they were able to use on a medusa which was ripping the team a new one. The reaction of the squad and how the whole thing played out was delightful; Whereas my previous opinion was 'who wants to watch people play games when I can play those games myself?' I now understand it's about interaction of the players and the unpredictable and fun situations that can arise from folks riffing off each other.

Not at all

For instance, many of the mods in the Direwolf modpack from FTB for minecraft are stupidly in-depth on their own. There's 100+ mods in that pack.

He has an entire Let's Play series dedicated to playing those mods, how they work, what they do, etc. I've watched dozens of hours of gameplay and commentary and used those lessons to decide what mod directions to go in my own games

She does, according to TFA, they respond like she doesn't know what she's talking about, apparently. "Do you think we're going to shoot you?" type stuff. And given a steamer was killed by the cops in a SWATing just a few months ago, yeah, I would be afraid they were going to shoot me.

In this girls case, she is being honest; I like honesty. She is also farking with trolls, misogynists and farkwits; this also pleases me.

I had an interesting couple of hours last night watching my first twitch stream. No titties, just kitties and cool folks having fun.

The vast majority of popular streamers are successful because of things other than the games. Mostly being able to crack jokes and interact with the audience in a compelling way.

I don't have a lot of experience, but I am going to expand my knowledge. I feel that my current views are tainted by ignorance of the subject.

Just straight up watching people play games, unless you're using it as a basis for whether or not to buy a game, actually sucks.

I also disagree, it's great for tabletop games like d&d. Even if you're playing a pre-set adventure the way the players approach situations and their antics is different for each group.

That's what I'm saying, it's less about the literal game and more about the social interactions.

Would you watch DnD streams of rule Nazis with no storytelling or real roleplay ability? They're technically playing the game "right."
