I like Sbarro's. Let the hate flow.

It's good garbage pizza, not gourmet Tuscan blah blah blah.

Good thing no one told him about Ray's, Ray's Pizza, or Original Ray's Pizza in NYC! Used to go to Ray's on  the Upper West Side-good crispy, thin crust pizza.
National chain "pizza"-abominations-awful stuff. Very, very easy to make your own. Crust ingredients are cheap, it's a simple recipe, your choice of toppings, and fresh.
That Papa John's guy always creeped me out, much like the Subway Jared did (way before his horrible behavior was exposed), glad not to see anymore of either of them.

Me too, I only like pizza made from wheat handpicked by monks, milled in a pure mountain stream by a hand hewn millstone, etc etc

Nah, I like Costco & Hungry Howie's pizza, its just as good as most pizza places in my book & much cheaper.  Most of the pizza places around me unfortunately suck, but still, hey its pizza

/besides Chicago style, screw that wet bread bowl/soupy crap
//there is a good pizza place about 30 mins away, but not convenient
///had pizza last night so its time for leftovers for lunch

But, how is Peyton Manning gonna get some of Papa John's hot & greasy pepperoni mouth around his dong now?

Used to like it, but there are better options. I prefer to get a doughball and use the stone, but if I'm feeling lazy, I'd take a Newman's Own or even a Red Barron over DiGiourno.

Those tweets were pretty funny btw. Also

Pizza Dough

3/4 cup warm water (105-115 degrees-should feel a bit warmer than your skin if thermometer is not handy)
1 1/2 teaspoon of active dry yeast  (a little less than one of those yellow packets of Fleishman's yeast in the refrigerated section)
Stir these two together in a small bowl-until somewhat dissolved-doesn't have to be perfectly smooth.
Let this rest about 10 minutes.

2 cups of white flour
1 teaspoon of salt
Whisk these together in a medium sized bowl.
Add the yeast water mix. Stir to mix. If it seems a bit too sticky, wet, gooey, add-slowly say a few tablespoons at a time, a bit more flour, until your dough starts to come together-less sticky, but not super stiff.
Turn out on to a lightly (just a bit, a tablespoon or so) floured surface.
Knead your dough about 10 minutes. Kneading, fold one part over the other, push 'em together, flatten 'em out, turn the dough, do it again. Should be nice, pliable, and smooth. This is working the gluten-getting structure into the dough.
Oil a large bowl. Place dough in bowl. Cover with plastic wrap. Doubles in size about 1 1/2 hours.
Cut dough in half. Smoosh it down a bit. Separate oiled bowls, Cover with plastic wrap. Rise 1 hour.
Roll out. Top as desired. HOT oven-pre-heat it to about 400-425 (if going heavy on toppings). Bake times vary-mine are usually done between 15-22 minutes.

Oh look, it's "make your own food, it's so cheap and easy" guy!

Tell us more, we all LOVE to hear you tell us about how we shouldn't like what we like and should make ourselves have to do a bunch of cooking and dishes so we won't actually even enjoy the food we made.

I guess you're a step above "the best pizza in the world is only made at this ONE store near me in a little town with a seating capacity of six, that is closed on weekends" guy, because with the recipe you're offering a less insane level at which we can test your assertion.

A previous Fark thread directed me to the Serious Eats cast iron pizza recipe. Pretty darn easy to do, just have to plan for it a day ahead of time.

sometimes when I'm super bored I like to skim through social media responses to food recalls. "well *I* would never buy this but passing it on in case any of *you* do. this is why you should grow your own food!! everyone has private property with ample extra space and time to tend the garden that grows even in winter and raise free-range chickens."

YES to microwave, not cooking. even having to do that much is an annoyance sometimes. I had a gas leak in my apartment a couple years ago and told the landlord not to bother hooking the oven back up. he looked at me like I'd sprouted an extra head but oh well.

/DiGiorno isn't too bad for frozen pizza, especially the "thin crispy crust," even though it's neither

I believe there is a pizza place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia that put marijuana on its pizza. Think it's called Happy Pizza by the locals and the foreigners who frequent the joint.

I stopped eating from them a long time ago because: 1) didn't like their pizza anymore and 2) more chain and local pizza places opened up, inundating me with options (most of which have a quick carry out or delivery through new services).

And I say that as someone who grows his own oregano to put in the sauce made from the tomatoes he grew, to put on the pizza he makes.

Great. Now I want pizza.

Bad Pizza and worse politics in not a formula for a successful business. As a part of a super bowl promotion a few years ago, I got a free large pizza at Papa John's.

It wasn't worth the price I paid, nor the time I spent ordering and getting it, nor the cost of the gas I spent driving there & back....despite the outlet being only four miles from my house.

retail pizza is kinda like blowjobs

so long as the most basic levels safety are observed, there's really not much of it that so bad, you'll find slices with single bites taken out of it in the trash

because even meh pizza is sometimes OK. every movie doesn't have to be Gone With The Wind

Point of order - Yankee Doodle Pizza in Moline, Illinois.

Horrible, horrible pizza.

It's been about 30 years, but I still have nightmares...
