He was staring at Wesley Johnson?  I thought he was staring at Teodosic, "you gonna help your guy or what?"

Or lining up the shot. Not like he was in a hurry.

How about the fact that put the Rockets up 31-7 at that point? Yikes.

Not sure which I like better, this or Steph's turn around and mock the bench while the 3 is still in the air.

Or Swaggie P celebrating the missed 3... also good.

The NBA is great. My son who is 12 and i can talk for hours about basketball stuff we find online. We talk over dinner/going to school or practice/basically anywhere. He loves that all the players are active online and seem to be decent guys. Living near Philly we've been able to go to a few Sixers games because they are such garbage that we end up seeing cool games at a decent price.

NFL: He is over Madden. He can't stand no one knows what a catch is. This year it screwed over his fave team the Steelers and he basically gave up on NFL after that. Plus going to a game here in Philly is a nonstarter since well Eagles fan.

Totally worth it. I'm not a huge NBA fan, but, damn, the pause before the shot to apparently ensure he didn't kill himself on his way down to the deck was timing at its most artful. I mean, damn.

Kinda looked to me like Harden gave him a little push and Johnson was in the middle of flopping when Harden jumped back

I don't know that Wes was going to flop, but I do think Harden gave him a bit of a shove.

MJ would be proud of that push off. He probably thought he was going to be called for the foul and that's why he waited so long to shoot.

"The NBA travel rule off the dribble is one gather step picking up the ball then you get 2 more steps, same as the new FIBA rule, so even calling this a travel is highly questionable. If it was NCAA then sure, that's a travel.

Edit: Looking frame by frame, he's still dribbling the ball as he retreats, then puts his right foot down behind the arc as he picks up the ball. That's his gather step and becomes his pivot foot. It doesn't move again. So any shuffling of his left foot doesn't matter. Clearly not a travel by rule."

"There's no meaningful push at all here, and that's even clearer from the other angles that have been posted since the OP. Again, if you're just looking at Johnson you can see that he starts to speed up going to his right to brace for Harden's drive, and then Harden pulls back and Johnson's body is already moving. You can see that he actually falls a second after the contact because he tries to change his footing after starting his lateral burst to the right; from the way Johnson's body moves (and falls) you can tell that it simply isn't responding to upper body contact"

Oh, look, another NBA highlight thread where fools come in and say everything about it shouldn't count because they don't understand rules.

Also, the pause is absolutely to clown on the defender, to give him the chance to get back up so he can then put the shot down in his face.

He only played 6 minutes, and I'm almost certain he hit the bench immediately after that and wasn't seen again.

The pause by Harden, that was a thing of beauty right there. The right amount of fake concern combined with a "Fark you, I'm shooting the 3 in front of your face."

Annnnnd...LeBron just eclipsed him for highlight play of the year, splitting a double-team/screen by going behind the back through his teammates' legs with a dribble, then absorbing a swipe from one guy and a body from another and banking the shot in.
