Did Obama remove Pakistan from the list? Because I can't think of any other reason why Trump would do that.

There is a good book I am reading (well, listening to via Audible, because its the 21st century) called Directorate S. It is a book about how Pakistan was working against us while fighting the war on terror.

Not just harboring Bin Laden, but actively supporting the Taliban and Kashmir terrorists.

King Something: Did Obama remove Pakistan from the list? Because I can't think of any other reason why Trump would do that.

The way I'm reading it, this is not a US list. It's an international list and everyone involved needs to agree to put them on it.

Pakistan had been on the list from 2012 to 2015.
It has counted on allies like China, Saudi Arabia and Turkey to block the United States-led effort to put the country back on the so-called gray list of nations that are not doing enough to counter terrorism financing.

I'm sure the State Department will get right on making sure that the penalties are enforced.

Oh, wait.  Tillerson dismantled it.

It's not as if it was some kind of judgment call.  Trump just figured they looked like terrorists

When does the US and pretty much every other major power in the world get put on that list?

When the US and pretty much every other major power in the world are no longer the ones who write and maintain that list.

Because it is the21st century, you choose to not read?
I tried Audible for "Fire and Fury" because it was free. I never finished it because I could have read the whole book in less time than it took for the weird voice to read it to me like I was a slow child.I'll get it when they get to me on the library waiting list.

This is what the US gets for all the money they give to Pakistan?

The audiobook and text-to-speech revolution is an amazing thing.  You are missing out if you ignore it.

You claim to wear headphones wherever you go.  Why aren't you getting in an extra book or two a week while you are traipsing around?  You don't have to stop reading to do it.

I do wear headphones everywhere I go, it's not a claim. Often just plugged in with nothing on so I can hear what is going on around me.  And anyway, audio books remind me of being in school, when people would read out loud and they'd be so damned slow, it would annoy me because I read quickly.  I don't feel like I am missing out on anything having given it a try. I read more quickly than most, it used to get me in trouble in school because I'd just zone out on whoever was slowly reading and read ahead, so I wasn't "paying attention.:

I hated it until I really tried the newer players.  You can adjust the speed and volume nowadays so it fits into your listening capacity and whatever attention level you have to spare without going all chipmunk.
