"We don't know what to expect for this season but we certainly have to continue monitoring for Zika," said Dr. Slobodan Paessler.

I may or may not ride my motorcycle into Texas, but until you tell me it is safe, I may or may not buff my helmet.

Back when I could still ride bikes, I was on the outskirts of town, stopped to rest for a minute, and saw a small mosquito land on my finger. Being in the desert, the wildlife is small, not like some of those bugs in the Houston area, running the size of Israeli fighter jets. That and Florida waterbugs, some when you try to swat them, they stand up to you.

Zika-Zik-ahhhhhh!

If you haven't gotten your Zika yet, now's your chance to have a Zippy Baby of your very own

Seriously though, just travel to a nice warm balmy place and get your Zika already - it clears out all on its own in 8 weeks in women and 6 months in men, has no real symptoms in most cases, and once you've gotten it, you can't get it again. So there's really no downside aside from having to wait awhile to make some babies

Because everyone can simply take eight week or six month tropical vacations.

Wow, problem solved!

Do you have to stay where you are once you get it?

 Phrasing!

I haven't followed Zika as much as I should have, but medical journals indicated that for whatever reason Zika results in microencephalopathy in infants significantly more often in specific regions (like Brazil) than in others, which suggests that there might be a confluence of factors along with Zika that results in genetic and physical disability in infants.

Any indication that this finding has been superseded?

What? That's the infectious period.
But hey, thanks for showing us how fake news is spread through social media and why it's so prevalent amongst Trump supporters

Brazil has more carriers due to its tropical climate and they have more sex than Americans. There's no difference in the effect by race. All carriers risk causing microencephalopathy in newborns, so it really comes down to lifestyle and preventative efforts

"Hey Boss, we're all out of flu vaccine."

"Dammit, we could have really raked in some cash this year. Why didn't we see this coming?"

""Well boss, we still have tons of that Zika vaccine."

"Marge! Get marketing on the phone stat."

Unless you want to go home and spread the virus among the non-immune, yes.

God must surely hate humanity or he would not have invented a disease that turns people into literal pinheads.

You know there is a Trump joke coming don't you?

Well, I fooled you good. It's a GOP joke.

But on the Sunny Side, maybe Snivilization will collapse before Zika makes it to Canada and our Sunny Ways!

It's February still. Mosquitos are not something we have to worry about in Ottawa, at least if you are within six, seven blocks of Parliament Hill. My guess is that urban air kills mosquitos, or at least Parliamentarians do. Nothing can breath the flattulence that those guys put out from both ends. Not even Russian bots.

They all produce their propaganda from Montreal or Toronto. All the little Quebec newspapers come out of a single address in Toronto. I assume the Ontario crap comes out of an office on St. Catherine so as to be handy for the hookers and gay bars.

/ Pinheads are another matter. No shortage of those here or anywhere!

// Did you know that the sunniest town in Canada is Saskatoon, Saskatchewan? More proof that God hates humanity. Hi, Matt! I owe you a beer still!
