What the actual fark??

That is the most delusional, false, and downright insulting (to the FBI and all of our intelligence communities) thing she could possibly say.

Oh wait, she works for Trump. That's a feature, not a bug.

So, which two Senators and three Representatives voted against the sanctions?

Reps:
- Amash (R-MI)
- Massie (R-KY)
- Duncan (R-TN)

Senators:
- Paul (R- KY)
- Sanders (I-VT)

Wait, Sanders?  Really?

I'm gonna say it: given what we know about Russia's motives and who they assisted in the 2016 election, I consider his motivations suspect.

I understand your suspension, however while I fully believe the Russians would use any and all available methods to disrupt our elections, I don't think Bernie was/is politically savvy enough to actually get lined up in that.  He demonstrates a continuous level of niavity that suggests, to me, that he was simply an unwitting tool in the Russians' eyes.

Russia is literally pushing Trump around, and Trump is literally furthering their agenda.

And Congress passing law and sending it to POTUS to sign is not "pushing him around". It's called doing their goddamn jobs.

I swear. Is every day opposite day to that coont?

Believing Trump's campaign and Russia didn't coordinate with each other requires a tremendous suspension of disbelief. Basically, you have to think that these two groups, which basically have the same goals and repeatedly made blatant overtures to each other couldn't figure out a way to collaborate. You have to ignore things Trump going on farking TV and asking them to release all of Hillary's e-mails

That doesn't even take into account things like financial ties, Paul Manafort's working for farking free, changing the Republican platform at the convention - when historians study this all in the future, they will wonder how he wasn't thrown out six months into the presidency.

Honestly speaking, just about no one other than people in Vermont really know Bernie Sanders. Others around the country like his message, but in reality the guy got very little done in his career. People like the idea of Sanders, but the actual Sanders was... ineffectual and isolated. And because of his political independence and his refusal to play the political game all that much, he was basically a progressive mouthpiece with zero weight.

And let's be honest, the guy is 76... if he gets elected again and actually makes it through another term, I'll be surprised.

That was my impression too. I really did like his ideals but he left me some doubt that he has the political savy to get things done.

Plus I was constantly annoyed with how haphazard his campaign seemed to be.

But I do not believe the man had any malicious intent.

I don't want this thread to denigrate into what the other Sanders thread did, but I will say one thing about Sanders vote on ruse sanctions.

Sanders said he voted against the sanctions because of Iran. He very well may have, but he is calculated enough to know what it looks like. He also knows that Trumps words were hollow in terms of punishing Iran. All other P5+1 nations were and continue to honor the agreement with Iran. His vote had no impact on that, and in retrospect has people, right or wrong, giving him side eye for it.

Conversely, standing FOR sanctions would have then, and in retrospect now, been the better vote for a further unified Senate. Sanders can not now, or ever, call Trump out for not enforcing sanctions. And if he does, he will rightfully, and deservedly be called or for his vote and appear to be nothing more than an attention whore.

Hang on there, Chachi. Russia did not necessarily want Drumpf. You're talking about collusion starting in 2013 which is Manchurian Candidate level suspension of disbelief. There's nowhere close to that ballpark available to the public at this point.

Russia wanted to throw nails on the highway and watch us beat ourselves senseless. Which actually happened. This current situation was a stretch goal. It isn't obvious and it wasn't the end goal. Americans hating Americans and not listening was the goal.

Shove your conspiracy theory up your ass for now. It is possible, but it is hardly the butler what dun it so far.

It is one of the ways he communicates "directly" and SHS would do it without a lot of lawyer/adviser questions.

It's odd - "bad actors like Russia"? Since when, Trump?
