Based on how much porn is "step-parent" porn, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that kids are starting to wish they were adopted.

I suppose we could have actual sex education classes that taught real life stuff like birth control, condom use, STD avoidance, consent, and by golly, just happen to mention that those videos aren't accurate depictions of what partners like. Then, horrors, suggest that they ask their partners what they like, find out what they'd be comfortable with, and so on.

Of course, it would be a miracle if the class got that far before the legal injunctions hit the school to save the children. Then they all go out and learn in the back seats of cars or back rows of theaters like the good old days. We could blame the ensuing teen pregnancies on lack of religion and the STDs on those poor kids from across the tracks and go on pretending our children won't have sex until at least the third year of marriage just like Genesis told us.

This!

As someone once put it, what we call sex ed in the US is 99% reproductive biology with almost nothing practical. It would be like if drivers ed took you through all the workings of the internal combustion engine, but never bothered explaining what the colors on that light hanging in the middle of an intersection mean or what that red octagon is.

From further down in the article: It was almost 4 p.m., and the boys started to gather their backpacks to head to a class known as Porn Literacy. The course, with the official title The Truth About Pornography: A Pornography-Literacy Curriculum for High School Students Designed to Reduce Sexual and Dating Violence.

"But they say you gotta do what you gotta do." And if you don't, the first girl added, "then someone else will."

That idea is more of a problem than anything I've ever seen in porn - and it didn't come from any porn video.

(Also, sorry, honey, but if your boyfriend had a shot with Jenna Haze, you never would have met. That's just reality.)

It may be unrealistic to expect your partner to do everything a "porn star" does, but it's not asking too much to expect someone to be able to discuss what they like and don't like honestly, and treat the whole subject in a positive healthy way.

Some people say porn is bad because it gives people unrealistic ideas.  The real reason some people don't like it is because it shows people enjoying sex, with the lights on, and not being ashamed at all.

Those were great, often pretty funny as I remember from one of the sequels. They were. Far, far too US-centric to be fair but they did provide an education.

Of course, we thought of those games as being hardcore computer porn, then once played they turned out to be very tame sex comedies filled with the standard Sierra sadistic death traps. But they were funny and entertaining, I'll give them that.
