Somebody call the Department of Labor. I'm pretty sure babies aren't supposed to be working before they turn 16.

The power of selective memory.

"You had a child?  I don't know you!  Need money for diapers and daycare?  Sorry, not ringing a bell."

I'm sure his insurance really helped out with that medical bill.

So that's how she's spinning the fact that she cheated on him.

Thread's over. I'll get the lights on my way out.

If he works at 7-11 I'm sure he has some kickass insurance.

See - i don't know if that's irony - mostly because i would have had no reason to expect him to work at 7-11, nor for the baby to be 7lb11oz.  Even had i known that this guy worked at 7-11 prior to the article's 'clever' revelation, it still wouldn't have been ironic.

Humorous, perhaps, or curious, or even kismet - but not ironic.

Well, yea - that's why he (or his employer (hah!) or the government) is paying upwards of $500 a month - for great healthcare! Right‽

I'm going to assume for the sake of my faith in humanity that he had at least one or two R&R leaves during that 3 year mission and could have had an opportunity to meet his wife/siggo in a european country.

/Man, you'd think i had nothing else to do today save comment on fark.

7-11 and 7 lbs. 11 oz? What are the odds of that?

Last time I saw that kind of news story, the truth was even funnier.  The news site that posted it getting sued into the stone age, he had come home for 2 weeks 10 months earlier, the new site had even known about it, knew the story was going to be controversial, ignored the 2 weeks leave part, and published it with that headline anyway.

Man with heart condition wakes up from coma.  "I'm the father of a new born baby?"  "And I work at Seven Eleven?" Arg. Beeeeep.  Flatline.

Baby was 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and he works at 7-Eleven

Baby already has a job? Now that's bootstrapping!

I think it's a range based on his excitement level.

I had a heart attack a couple of weeks ago (12:05a, 01/27). Admitted to one hospital, stabilized, ambulance ride to a trauma center, a heart catheterization, an angioplasty, one stent, and 4 days in-patient time before they let me go home. I have a wearable external defibrilator rig because I've got roughly a 25% risk of instant death inside the 40-day window following the infarction.

The bill so far is up over $66k. I know some stuff's missing - the defib rig should be running $3k/month and I didn't see any of my new medications pop up yet.

Out of pocket for me should be about $2,500 total. (I don't have 7/11 insurance.)

Yawn wake me when somebody has a 9lb 11oz baby. You can name him Rudy.

"...ironically, her dad works at 7-Eleven."

Not really necessary.

Maybe no one expected him to work at 7-11?  Or expected a 7-11 employee could get some ass?
