Teacher pay must be getting really low.

That's how you know the drugs are good.

If you had to deal with second graders all day, you'd want to get high too....might as well make some money while you're at it.

Hell, if I had to deal with a classroom full of other people's children I'd be on drugs, too.

edmo: Teacher pay must be getting really low.

Teacher pay has always been low enough that there is a desire to supplement their income. My high school chemistry teacher was busted for selling drugs 20 years ago. He was the best teacher I ever had, not because he was a drug dealer but because he was an extremely good instructor.

Why do I hear parents saying "oh thank God it was only drugs"?

It's not getting low.

It's been criminally low, for quite a while now.

These people are only charged and entrusted with educating, informing, and shaping the developing minds of our children.  Of course we should pay them as little as we can get away with!  Big salaries go to people who earn them through their important and benificial actions, like laying off hundreds or thousands of employees and outsourcing to third world countries with no labor or environmental protections.  The importance of the developing intellects of entire generations pales in comparison to a quarterly report that will drive a company's stock price up a couple of points.

Hell, I'd be on drugs right now if I weren't at risk of getting fired for failing a drug test.

Eat a dick, channel 3, for perpetuating this "OMG TEH CHILDREN" sensationalism.  Slather school, teacher, and education overtones all over an arrest article for a victimless crime that had nothing to do with any of the aforementioned whatsoever.

Completely. Irresponsible. Journalism.

Anyone know what kind of drugs they were dealing? The article was light on adjectives.

Up walked a Baptist preachin' southern funky school teacher
She had a line on somethin' heavy but we couldn't reach her
We told her that we needed somethin' that would get us goin'
She pulled out all she had and laid it on the counter showin'
All I had to do was lay my money down and pick it up
The cops came dustin' in and then we lit out in our pickup truck go

You ever try to grade papers from six over-crowded classes every day?
Let's see how long you stay sober.

Schedule I, Schedule IV, Schedule VI, according to Pancho.

My hometown, went to school with Jamie. Not friends beyond knowing each others names. She ran the St. Jude half marathon last year.

WREG likes to be the first report available, even if the full contents of the article are little more than "A thing happened. Updates to follow as we learn what it was."

If I told my boss I wasn't coming in to work from June to September, my pay would be pretty low too.

Plus 2 weeks at Christmas, a week at Easter, a random week in the spring, etc.

In TN, AL, some others states, schedule VI is basically marijuana or synthetic marjuana, with low physical addition risks.

My son is a first year , high school math teacher , he and every teacher should know (and he does know) not to complain anout the pay of their job.  You know teachers are underpaid before you start college. It's not a surprise people.  It's like a EMT saying "I save lives, why am I not making 100k a year?"   At least my son gets my point and he agrees.  Remember , you say you are not doing it for the money.

And that's why our public education system is a model of excellence throughout the first world!

It starts out at $38k for a first-year teacher with a BA, and maxes out at $62,705 for a teacher with 21 years and a PhD.  (I'm assuming steps are years, that may not be an accurate assumption.)

Nah I'm doing it because it's the fastest growing market for shrooms! Yeah, ever since their effectiveness against PTSD was discovered, they've been selling like hotcakes to ALL levels of educator.
