First round pick middle linebacker out of Alabama arrested for assault and weapons charges?  Sounds like Rolando McClain all over again.

The article the NFL may censure or suspend him. How about we let the law do their thing first? He can be "suspended" as long as they determine.

CTE, and maybe a touch of PTSD? By all reports, had an ugly childhood. The guy's also been a very violent tackler all his life, to the point that he keeps injuring himself, and probably should be a bit bigger for the position he plays.

Would have been amazing if a GIS had both but alas not to be.

He should try not hitting people when here not playing football. He should also probably get rid of the guy. He lives in Los Gatos for farks sake. The place looks like the model for the stepford wives. It's probably one of the safest places on Earth.

He's maybe on a path of self destruction. He catches a glimpse of success and wants to sabotage it all.

That's not a sandwich or a table, that's Hope Solo sitting on a Lazy Susan.

Jarring to see my home town mentioned, but you nailed the description.

Somehow, I don't think he's going to end up having any choice in the matter. If the description is accurate, one of the things they took from him is frowned upon not just by California DOJ, but the BATFE. You don't get to keep your guns if they succeed in hanging a felony conviction on you of any kind. A misdemeanor domestic violence conviction would also be a disqualifying event as far as owning a gun goes, but I assume he'll skate on the DV case. Unless they do a Ray Rice on Candid Camera, or the victim winds up in the ICU, they usually do.

Odd little place. I visit Santa Cruz and San Jose a fair bit. The LG is just impossibly clean and well-landscaped. Looks like a movie set to me.

This. I knew something had to be up with this guy, because he was easily the best college player I saw last year. Great instincts, great nose for the ball-carrier, great closing speed, and devastating tackling ability. And... next to last guy taken in the first round? Uh huh...

Right as we were seeing some hope for this team with Jimmy G, we get yet another scandal with one of our best linebackers.  First Aldon Smith, then Ray MacDonald, now Foster.  The NFL has known for years that violent thugs make the best linebackers, then act so surprised when an off-field incident happens.  Don't they have any onboarding procedures to teach these guys how to run their lives after hitting the football jackpot?  There should be classes on how to deal with relationships, deal with the media, and handle your money.  It's like they dump wheelbarrows full of cash in these kids laps and then set them loose on the world

The union and the league have bunches of specialized training and learning seminars for rookies and veterans alike that go over all those issues you listed and more and have had them for several years now. Additionally, the union actually has a of "certified" financial planners that they recommend players talk to about setting up their finances.  But...horse to water and all that.

As a 49ers fan I am going to blame that Marshmellow / Cabbage love child of a person Jed York for this not because I think he had anything to do with it but mostly because I hate him.
