(Chicago Trib)   You may not know that there is a Guinness World Record for most sets of twins and/or triplets in a high school class, but the sophomore class at New Trier HS in suburban Chicago just set it with 44 sets of twins and 1 set of triplets   ( chicagotribune.com) divider line

Oh thank god - it's the students and not the students' babies.

Also, some school in China probably already beat this and nobody there has ever heard of Guinness.

It's good to have twins in Chicago. You have a backup kid for when one is murdered.

I am proud to report that I was expelled from New Trier (underground newspaper in the '60s). Also expelled from New Trier blues great Michael Bloomfield and actor Ralph Bellamy. Graduate: Rummy. 'Nuff said.

/ Got a PhD in computer science so this really held me back.

If they all start chanting, "One of us. One of us." I bet it's really creepy.

Isn't New Trier the largest high school in the world?

Yay, a world-record for a high school for having so many rich parents who can afford fertility treatments.

Just based on the numbers and teen hormones there must be a lot of weird cross-twin eskimo sibling stuff going down at that school.

Fertility treatments are mandated insurance coverage for Illinois.

It's not a record, it's a collection of gullible teachers who fall for the "it wasn't me smoking in the bathroom, that was my twin" excuse. Every. Single. Time.

Granted I'm not familiar with insurance in Illinois. But in my experience with insurance, covered != affordable.

67 twins/trilets out of 1000....pfff

My high school class had 24 twins out of 220, and those were the days before IVF (dunno about fertility drugs... I'm sure there were some drugs involved with some of their parents).

Midwest City High had 22 sets of twins when I went but I'm not sure about other multiple births.  It was fun realizing that there really is an evil twin and a good twin.

Wouldn't it be the other way around?  I mean, a woman can only get pregnant once while the man can get multiple women pregnant.  If one man did three women to produce three children, the ratio would be 1:3 with women the heavier.

I actually have better question, not that you'll answer honestly. Why you have associated that phenomena with Chicago?
