I've been eating Lucky Charms since the 70's and had no idea that was supposed to be an hourglass.

Lucky charms jumped the shark with the purple horse shoes.

It does deserve a second look. It's not really funny until you consider the source.

Yep. I used to love the marshmallows in cereals, when I was a kid I wished this was a thing, but seriously doubt I would buy a 2Lb bag of them now. Maybe on my death bed as it would probably kill me anyway...

Whist grocery shopping the other week, I was in the cereal aisle looking for a zero-sugar box of hay in accordance with my Type 2 deebeedeebee's diet when I spotted boxes of chocolate Lucky Charms.
I quickly fled the aisle & lingered in the frozen food department until my erection subsided.

I'd love to join the dog pile here but my wife got me a bag of those for Christmas.  Glass houses and all that.

Stay away from the Malt-O-Meal brands (the big bags)! They're killing it with their combinations. They're adding marshmallows to their versions of crunchberries, cocoa puffs, pebbles (both fruity and cocoa), and Trix. So amazing but oh so bad for my pancreas and liver.

My father lovingly refers to O'Reilly's (Autoooo Parts!) as "Lucky Charms Auto". Some day before he dies, I want to spaypaint graffiti of Lucky on the front of the one nearest him so he can have a hearty laugh.

I vividly remember blue diamonds from the tv commercials. If they were truly killed off in 1975, as the article claims, I last saw that ad when I was 3.

Those dates are when the marshmallows were INTRODUCED.
This journalist is never going to get high profile gigs if she can't even properly research a fluff piece about breakfast cereal.

Those who live in glass houses should not cast Lucky Charm marshmallows.

I remember eating green clovers, blue diamonds and purple horseshoes as a kid. Then I was gone for the day.  Just chillin on the couch, kids these days don't need any extra sugar energy to push these colored shapes.

http://www.cereality.com/index.php

Years ago I saw this place on TV and they had about 4 or 5 locations around the country, now they only got one. I am surprised it hasn't taken off, you pick cereal, different kinds if you want, add all kinds of toppings and get diabetes.

I had my first bowl of those in 40 years after spending the night a a priest's house. They were for his niece but I had some. I seem to recall a smaller ratio of marshmallow to cereal back in the day yet I still didn't get that buzz.

My favorites as a kid were Alpha-Bits, Grape Nuts, Rice Krispies, and Corn Flakes.  Honey Nut Cheerios are good, too.

Corn Flakes with sliced strawberries are wonderful.  I looked up Grape Nuts and nearly fainted when I saw what their Glycemic Index was.
