Given that Randsel bags for kids here cost up to 50000 yen a 20000 yen Armani uniform isn't that bad.

Had this draconian uniform policy at school they would bfd.  They used to incessantly bother guys about not having pants hemmed.  So out came the stapler.

Chrome trim. Super trendy. There's always a will and a way around things

The local newspaper said it's a 特認校, which apparently means that it's open to anyone within the ward (Chuo-ku? Not sure which ward Ginza is in). According to the paper, the reason for this is that there aren't many people living in Ginza now,  or at least not with children, so the decision was taken at some point to make it a special school open to whoever in the Ward wants to send their kids there.

Bottom far right in the light-colored great coat is reinhard heydrich, one of the biggest bastards of modern history.  Even hitler commented that he was too cold-hearted.

What's that? It's an elementary school?

Despite the name recognition, Hitler is probably only in the top 10 in history and in the top 3 in Nazi Germany.  Heydrich, Himmler, Mengele, Eichmann, Mao Zedong, and Stalin are all interesting studies in pure evil.  The last two were responsible for at least 5-10X the deaths that Hitler was.

I feel like a big part of Hitler's problem is that he went after the Jewish people right at the time Jewish people were taking over Hollywood and Hollywood's competition was bombed to hell in the world war.

He got caught with his hand in the murder jar.

At the same time, churchhill was killing 4 million Indians and Spielberg never had Indiana Jones kick his ass for that.

Yup, exactly right.  In a matter of centuries (if not for the internet presumably) all this whould have been overwritten or forgotten.

Heydrich worked directly under himmler, and it was chiefly by his orders that people were liquidated.  He did the dirt so that the highest echelons could claim innocence and ignorance (as göring did at Nuremberg).  They use to refer to any such people as being "relocated" rather than murdered.

Also, the whole Hitler's "blitzkrieg" strategy.  It was not.  That was erich von manstein's work.  He used to call adolf "idiot" behind his back and disobey his orders.  Hitler fired him a few times, but the fact he was a genius tactically, he would never have him killed for treason.  He would just take credit for his work and reassign him to a new task.

Manstein went doen in history as an honorable man and went to command the new german armed forced after the war.  Churchill even lobbied to commute his prison sentence.  He was that proficient.

Thanks, that is interesting. Although I always just assumed--from what little I did know--that Himmler was such an evil bastard that he didn't mind owning up to even the most nefarious of deeds.
Again, just my assumption. I knew about Goering and company claiming ignorance, but I just had an assumption about weasel-face Himmler.

I'm not even sure if Hitler would make the top 10 most evil in history, he is just most known due to the fact that mass entertainment media has been around for 100 years.

Mass killing and deportation of Jews was practically the national pastime of Europe for a thousand years before him.

OMG I totally want one now and pick them up for my future children, It's a ridiculous expense.

Also, I've been doing a re-watch of Cardcapter Sakura right now, are there multiple alternative uniforms like a swimsuit, summer/winter, various gym outfits, etc or did CLAMP lie to me?

Let's see, made in a sweatshop in southeast Asia, cost of materials and labor maybe, being really liberal on this, $10, $780 for sewing on the designer label. And they'll have to buy another one next years, since a) kids grow, and b) made of cheap materials, and so will wear out anyway.

I see, so it's a mere $600 to sew the designer label on.

In my experience, elementary kids, the ones who would be using the $500-ish randsoru pack for six years, don't wear uniforms. They wear their normal street clothes and a brightly colored hat.

It's junior and high school kids that rock the uniforms.
