The FBI is a pain to work with. It's all about them.

Why is the White House so intent on defining the FBI by the texts from a couple grab assign agents?  Do they not see the inherent problem when their own people are caught in worse convoys?

/Narrator: they don't

The FBI is biased against people who exhibit blatant criminal behavior.  Who knew?

Yep.

The FBI has always been biased against criminals. It's never gone much deeper than that.

It is important for the FBI to be kept in check by both Congress and the Executive Administration, just as it is equally important for the FBI to resist falling into line with any particular political mandate. It is a GOOD thing that the FBI works in such self interest. That tension about control legitimizes their neutrality. It's like a weird bureaucratic antagonism that keeps things (relatively) fair, as they don't want to play favorites. Because they hate everyone it would seem. So they got that going for them. Which is nice.

Scary to think Trump and Sessions remaking the FBI in their own partisan image. Any Dems on the ballot better watch out for October surprises like what happened to Hillary just a few days before the election.

Screw that. The FBI has been the law-enforcement branch of the Republican Party for 85 years. Trump owes them his job. If ever a Democrat gets into the White House again (if they lit it happen, that is), they'll have to be abolished in their present form.

Which is why you don't attack them...

So keep it up Trump.

You had to read quite a bit till you realized it was one big set up for a BJ for Obama and Biden.

A defensive opinion piece by the Atlantic? I'm sure they have access to the inner workings and private conversations of the top officials at the FBI. Uh huh.
