That's a mighty strange definition of friend, friend.

Not to mention the article says "acquaintance", not friend.

Boston told police that Pfahler was drunk, and he told him, "No." Later, about 1:30 a.m., when Boston and his fiancee were getting ready to leave the bar, he noticed his keys were missing. Boston said he tried calling Pfahler, and when he didn't answer his phone, he called 911.

He threw his buddy under the bus rather than tell his fiance the truth

If I had someone my car keys to go buy something and instead they take it to a chop shop and cash it in, then yes the hsve stolen it.

Ergo it is possible to hand someone your keys and still have it be stolen

Just as its possible to leave the keys in the ignition and have it stolen

/ ie possible. Stupid but possible

I too am quite confused, yet refuse TRTFA because this headline means so much, also it has the sense, and laughing happened. Some Subby.

I stopped lending people my vehicles when I learned about vicarious liability.

I learned about it when a rental car company I worked for lonnnng ago had a man and wife rent a car, he made a left turn and didn't notice the oncoming dump truck, and got hit.  Wife lost some teeth and broke a bone or two, relatively minor injuries for such a collision.

He sued US and won.  You own the vehicle, you can be sued, even by the damned victim.

Appropos of nothing, but, I grew up with Jeff and he's my estranged wife's cousin which makes him related to my kids. We bought each other shots last time I saw him at the bar a few months ago.  I'm kind of surprised that he sold someone out to the cops so he wouldn't get in trouble with his girl, but....that's Altoona for ya lol At least we're not Johnstown.
