Skijoring is awesome.
I'd love to see ice climbing, too.  Fark your wimpy piton and rope shiat, I want to see people with an axe in each hand climb a frozen waterfall.

Hahaha, you can't put animals into the competitions.
PETA would shiat itself. There would protests, hashtags. People would change their social media icons.

I wanted to read more about downhill snow kayaking and the article gave me a tease that there was more after the ad. I am disappointed.

FrancoFile: Skijoring is awesome.

When I was a kid growing up in Chicago we called it "skeeching". Hang on to the back bumper of a car and get dragged down snowy/icy side streets in your heavy rubber snow boots. None of this "ski" fanciness. Lots of fun until you wiped out. My friend grabbed on to the back of a station wagon and was doing fine until he hit a bump and his feet slid out from under him. Unfortunately these were the days of chrome bumpers and he was wearing wet wool mittens that froze to the bumper. He was dragged for about a half block before he let go and the car drove off with his mittens still stuck to the back.

I also heard skitching but mostly we called it skeeching. Maybe it was a local slang for us Southsiders?

Galileo's Daughter: Skijoring looks like a lot of fun.  I think my dog would like it.

It is fun. I have done it and it is kind of nice to relax a little on the straights and let the dog pull. On the other hand, you need to work harder on the uphills in order to rest your dog and have more control over your speed on the downhills so you don't go faster than your dog. Last thing Fido needs is to have his legs clipped by a ski.

I have also been dogsledding and really enjoy that too. Harder work than you might think.

4 is just old school sledding.  Bandy is for those who need help with hockey.  Sure the ice is 100' longer, but double the number of skaters.  Make the goal bigger, and take away the goalie stick.  If that wasn't enough to increase scores, use a ball because elevating a puck is too hard for some people.

Yes, I've played street hockey too.  I'm familiar with stick handling both.
