Yeah, I'd have figured they'd charge him in the neighborhood $500, if not criminal action.

I've spent more on beer and food at a regular season baseball game.

Yeah I figured it would be a ton higher just as a deterrent.   I see this becoming more common if that's all you have to pay.

Also nice they figured out that its a bad idea to sue your own fans.

They've got to have a bazillion replacements out back anyway, for all the other dumb stuff people do to the seat.

I was thinking upwards of $1,000 or so. Surprising restraint.

For $125, I'd rather spend the money on the SB dvd, a jersey, and other Eagles collectibles. Unless he can get that chair autographed by some Eagles players, then that would be something.

It is interesting how a lot of minor crimes are becoming acceptable in this country.

Considering a fake jersey runs $100 and a stupid T-Shirt runs $45 - I'd say $125 for a stadium seat that you planted your ass in while your (lame) team won the Super Bowl is a sweet deal.  Hell, I once paid $300 to go back stage and meet Journey and all they gave me was a copy of their latest CD and a poster that said "I'm stupid - I paid an extra $300 for this poster and a CD".

2018-02-08 12:28:58 PM
Someone paid 3 times that just to sit in the damn thing so tell me who the real criminal is in this situation.

2018-02-08 12:34:32 PM
Now he can authenticate his seat. That makes it worth a lot more.

Only for white folks. If he'd been a minority he'd be facing 25-life or would have been shot by MPD on the way out the door

Did I miss the part in TFA where he had to give back the stolen article?
/ Because he should have been forced to give it back.
// If not, as we all agree, that was not a bad price for a cool souvenir.
/// I've got a buddy who knows all about stadium seats.

$125 seems downright reasonable when you factor in labor to pop a new one on and costs of materials.  I would have estimated at least $500 because they have to use special limited edition "Super Bowl LII" pads and screws to replace it. Compared with a shiatty thin T-Shirt or poorly made cap, the seat is a special unusual object you can't just get anywhere.  Add in some signatures of players if you can and that is a heck of a trophy for your memorabilia collection and probably worth well over the 125 to the rabid Eagles fans if you ever want to unload it.

/Hell, I would pay $125 for a stadium seat I sat in during a Seahawks regular season home game.

For the Super Bowl?  It's a lot more than 3 times that.

Someone probably paid at least 10x that for a personal seat license that says they don't actually own the seat.

This guy got an amazing deal.

Although, the guy that bought the PSL should be allowed to visit his house and watch games in it.

I would bet that even as we speak, there's a crew at the stadium in Atlanta, where the next Super Bowl will be played, bolting the seats down tighter.

Well hate to break it to you, $125 would get you the jersey or the DVD and collectibles. Even the DVD will prolly be 30-40 bucks. This guy has proof he ripped the stadium seat out of the ground. He can frame the bill and hand the chair.

Blank has been pretty cool about in-stadium prices. He might just have a pre-approved price for the things.

Only a couple more bucks than a program.

Really.
It's cheaper than a jersey. Hell I saw on twitter that parking was $100.

Ugh.  The worst price I have personally seen at a Seahawks game was $75....back in 2013...the Saints were in town for Monday Night Football.

I bet if they just offered that as a service they could have easily charged $200 each and gotten new seats for a non-trivial part of the stadium.

Have it signed for like $400 or something.

People talk about "I was right here when Michael Jackson died" or "9/11 happened" or "John Lennon was shot" or whatever.

I'd think if you're a serious enough fan to go to the Superbowl, you'd like to be able to say "and here is the seat I was in when the Eagles won the Superbowl!"

Mount it on a frame and put it up in your man-cave to show your kids or whatever. In this guy's case since it is "going viral" they should be able to get it signed if they try.

Holy shiat!

I was at Eagles @ Seahawks back in December, and we just parked downtown, and took an Uber to and from the Stadium...and still came out ahead versus the parking lots close to the CLink.

It's not a crime if you can throw money at it to make the problem go away.
