I hope the Stock Market decides to punch him in the face because he is a Nazi lover. Everyone and everything should punch Nazis and Nazi lovers in the face at any opportunity they can get. If Citizen's United was the equivalent of claiming corporations are people, and speech is free for them, then the Stock Market is the mother of all these corporate children. A mother, being a person, is then free to punch Nazis and Nazi lovers, punching being a duty for everyone and everything. In short, punch the fark out of that Nazi-loving farker's face. You have my permission even though you don't need it.

Who knew the stock market could be so complicated? Trump knows that good news means the market goes up and bad news means it goes down! I mean, it's not like there are any other factors that impact market prices.

Clearly a stable genius.

Did Trump ever really make any legitimate money?  He doesn't seem to understand how anything works. Is his entire "fortune" based on illegal dealings?

Of course not. Some of it was inherited fair and square.

I'm sure that the totally sentient stock market failed on purpose because we all know it's in cahoots with Hillary and the Deep State.

Even though I agree with the premise of the article... well, not really. I'm not sure what the premise was.

Try again - even though I largely agree with the author, I want to punch him in the face for using "grokking" and still expecting us to take them seriously.

Real Estate.

So to answer your questions in order: No. Yes.

It's like he actually believes the stock market is comprised entirely of the people on the floor of the New York stock exchange.

I think he's an idiot, but he's expressing the essence of an opinion that I've seen on Fark a million times, ad totally farking nauseum - that if something good happens to a company and its stock doesn't go up, no matter how high it already is, that it's insane and wrong and stupid. The only difference is he's not saying it proves capitalism is wrong and bad and we should all go eat bugs.

The boldfaced part is why I'm not concerned about this specific thing right now. If he was really attacking the free market, it might be an issue. I don't see any particular threat in him saying to all his dimwitted followers that the stock market should always go up all the time. Sure, fine, ok. Any Trump voter who has an IRA or 401K believes this anyway.

vrax: Did Trump ever really make any legitimate money?  He doesn't seem to understand how anything works. Is his entire "fortune" based on illegal dealings?

It's bases on screwing people over in NY real estate "deals" and paying others to manage his fortune, as rich people do.

For years we have heard liberals going on about how what is good for Wall Street isn't necessarily good for Main Street. We get an actual example of this in play - good news for Main Street actually drove down stocks - and the president, a Republican, actually recognised it and questioned why it was so. I would say that this is a move in the right direction; most Republicans would just ignore the negative correlation, or worse, they would actively seek to stamp out any chance of resurgence on Main Street so it could drive stock valuations higher.

That has been my concern from the election. Once someone who pulls his strings figures stuff out, he'll purposely tank part of the economy so his puppet master (or one of them) can short and then buy low.
Collapsing a few more banks could do it. He's buddies at Deutsche Bank could buy up the scraps and get bigger.

Exactly. Everything is personal with Trump. The market did the wrong thing because it corrected, not just kiss his arse. His boxer shorts did the wrong thing because they rode up his Presidential crack. He loves the adoration, and everything else is "fake", "wrong" or "low energy".

That's what you're going with?  Be careful you might accidentally come up with an idea that helps an ethnic or religious minority next.

He made it in New York City, so illegality is a given.

I'm just waiting for him to bite the hand that can pimp slap him down publicly and in a way that humiliates him even to the Trumpers.

So if the stock market goes down because of "good news", why was it going up before?   Is Trump saying his entire term before now has been filled with "bad news"?

Wait, I'm trying to make sense of something Trump said.  There's my mistake.

He's never really made any money. If he'd taken what he inherited from his dad and stuck it in an indexed fund back in the 80s, and spent the interim drinking and chasing skirt exclusively, he would be worth many times what he is today.

And it isn't even like he got into Penn through any merit of his own.  Daddy's connections got him in.  Trump likes to brag that he graduated at the top of his class.

There are three doors. The first is marked, "EXIT up a small flight of stairs." The second is marked, "EXIT to room where you must fire someone face-to-face." The third is marked, "WARNING: This room contains a tiger. It also contains a Big Mac."

Q: Which door does he choose?

A: What do you have against tigers?

Wharton is the business school at Penn.  Wharton is the college at the school who awards B.S. Degrees in Economics that Trump got (somehow).  If your friend as a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, he did indeed get it from the Max Fisher College of Business at tOSU.

Disregard that reply. I've always been if the belief that a graduate degree is from the specified school. I could be wrong, though.
