How exactly is his approval rating rising?

Has anyone looned to see if there was outside influence on poll results?

I doubt the veracity of these results even more now, than before the election.

I mean, there's a f*cking link in the thing that explains how this works.

It's not rocket science, the tax cuts are hitting right now. People ought to be over that stuff by the spring after they get that new dog fluffer and a Ford farkus on layaway.

I have another idea, however (which is immediately blown out of the water by the multitude of polls showing a bump): in a likely voter filter, lots of former Trump voters are saying they're not going to vote, which takes them out of the poll and only leaves in nutjobs who want to vote to empower this, which boosts likely voter polls (for Trump, since those who are no longer voting were never going to vote D, b/c they're old).

Again, the Monmouth poll and others like it kind of put this theory to bed.

I get what you are saying, but, I mean, people who are not Trumpsters (such as I) look at Trump and think.... this isn't a Dem/Rep thing of just I agree or disagree with his policies, it is Trump is just an awful person at his core, how can he have an approval rating over 10-15%?  WTF Is wrong with people?

And Shrub's approval ratings were near 80% around the same time in his Presidency.
No, I don't get it either.
How about we start looking at substance and not polls?

Sad but true... the old Carlin line of "Think about how dumb the average person is, and remember than half of the people are dumber than that" also works subbing "good-hearted" for "dumb" (and well, "less good-hearted" for dumber).  Although, I think most people (maybe incorrectly as you say) think that the average person is much more good-hearted than they are smart.

His uptick correlates very nicely with Gallop announcing they would not continue daily polling on Trump approval.  They were usually -7/8 compared to the top polls. This would push the average up.

People are generally good.

Perfect example. We drop death on people all over the world on an almost daily basis and have for decades. The fact that it only takes the cost of a plane ticket to the US to enact even the most rudimentary revenge is not due to our esteemed security apparatus. It's because generally people don't want to kill and hurt others

I am wholly unsurprised that his approval rating among people idle and willing enough to take a poll is higher than it is in the rest of the population.

40% of this country will support this farktard no matter what. The more farktarded, the better.

They love him because he bothers regular decent people. They hate decency, and genuinely enjoy seeing people like you and me being horrified by this shiat-show. I'm not kidding.

Oh, and that absurd, tinhorn strongman Soviet-style tanks & missiles parade thing? It'll go up to 44% after that.

2018-02-07 05:53:35 PM
There is a trend to more Trump popularity beginning mid-December, about 3%.  There were ups and downs in this trend, but the sharpest increase  was about half the overall swing, happening between Jan 29 and Feb 2.  The overall trend seems to be connected to the tax bill.  Maybe the sudden swing is connected to memo-based attacks on Mueller and the FBI.

Spent how? Last I checked the popular vote is worth less than a chuck e cheese ticket. 3 million chuck e cheese tickets will get you a hell of a lot of fake mustaches. A three million vote lead in the popular vote gets you bupkis.
